Dick Brucinson

The TRUE Dick Brucinson
Revisiting the Senjutsu album, I have to admit I start to enjoy it the one or other way. Never thought this was gonna happen.
The two songs from the mid-album, DOFP and TTM, in particular. Both great tracks.
Which of them both do you like better?

The Time Machine for me. Bruce's vocals are great during the "I have seen the gods cry!" section, and musically I love the proggy twists that follow the chorus.

Days of Future Past is a song I feel like I should like more than I actually do. It's a fast catchy rocker, but I don't have any favorite sections and after listening to it nothing stands out as memorable.

Bruce said dofp its "organic" for me sounds like a song written in 1 day but that could be better with more work.

One of the outstanding things about Days Of Future Past for me is this one lyric line "waiting for the judgement but the judgement never ends". Brilliant. What only one word can do, in this case "but". Seems to bring both parts of the sentence in a contradiction while they are dialectically referred to each other. WTF.

Great songs indeed, big fan of them. I should say DOFP because everything sounds so great, fresh and classic - but that empty middle part is a missed opportunity and anticlimatic. TTM, on the other hand, has such an awesome and memorable instrumental section. A proggy song with a really cool vibe (the fun verses) with some new things to say for the band, like the chorus (plus the acoustic parts), which works for me. The intro isn't the best, but it fits (ofc). I guess in the end 3 cool solos and a noticeable and longer instrumental section can elevate a song. And it's interesting. But I'm a big fan of DOFP, it's really tough to choose. The vocal ideas are probably stronger.

I agree with him that it sounds ''organic''. It just needs a harmony part. Steve would do it, for sure.

For me - DOFP's chorus is one of Bruce's best.
