Following a fierce label bidding war, Finnish melodic thrash titans CHILDREN OF BODOM have officially signed a U.S. deal for their upcoming album Hatecrew Deathroll with Century Media Records, the latter also having secured North American licensing rights for the Century Child album by Finnish neo-classical operatic goth sensations NIGHTWISH. Both albums are scheduled for a September 23rd release.

After three highly acclaimed full-length albums resulting in 40,000 copies sold in North America alone and worldwide sales exceeding 500,000 copies, CHILDREN OF BODOM have truly outdone themselves with this new nine-track release. Recorded in Finland by Anssi Kippo at Astia Studios, Hate Crew Deathroll is nothing short of breathtaking. The group have taken their songwriting to new heights by incorporating more aggression and melodicism by imposing no limits to their musical boundaries. Frontman Alexi Laiho spits out lyrics with vitriolic hate, the twin guitar insanity (courtesy of Laiho and Alexander Kuoppala) shred everything in their wake with razorsharp precision as the rhythm section (the demolition duo of Henkka T. Blacksmith & Jaska W. Raatikainen) pounds away like the world is about to end. This is all while the keyboards of Janne Warman complete the path of destruction with fervor and precision. When the band launch their North American tour in November, it will become even more obvious why CHILDREN OF BODOM are known as "The Hate Crew."

Set on making their highly-anticipated U.S. debut on September 5th at the Prog Power IV Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, Century Child has been one of NIGHTWISH's most acclaimed albums, lauded as "another firm step toward greatness" by Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles Magazine. With the astounding success of the band's licensed discography (Angels Fall First, Oceanborn, and Wishmaster) in North America through Century Media (over 25,000 albums sold in North America alone, with worldwide sales exceeding 750,000 copies), Century Child will further solidify the band's following in the Western hemisphere. Their first studio album in over two years and released in Europe in 2002 on Spinefarm Records, Century Child was recorded at Caverock and Finnvox Studios by Tero Kinnunen and Mikko Karmila and features an appearance by the Joensuu City Orchestra.
