Chaos in the UK

Horrible.
I also heard that some rioters took clothes from people and left them completely naked on the streets. Psychos...

I hadn't at all appreciated the scale of the chaos until last night when I watched the news. It's pathetic behaviour, these people are using the death of one person as an excuse to bring destruction and fear into people's lives, with a total disregard for human life.

What really disgusted and annoyed me though were the images of people in Birmingham (I believe violence has broken out elsewhere now too) who took the oppurtunity to destroy and loot shops in their own city. These people are not only proving that they are unfathomably stupid, but also what pathetic cowards they are.
That interview with those two girls is sickening, at a guess they're about the same age as me. They clearly have the same mental capacity as a ham sandwich, this being demonstrated by their awful attempt at coming up with some excuse for their pointless, thugish behaviour. I am actually shocked at how they plainly demonstrate how ridiculously stupid they are.

Why would anyone loot from Poundland?

Someone was shot by the police in North London so there was a peaceful protest that some idiots wrecked. It started in Tottenham with buildings being burnt and now it's spread to Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

I'm not sure if bringing in the army would be the sensible to do. I'm sincerely hoping the police will be able to handle it.

Indeed, but the core motive for these c***s is greed.

The situation began when an alleged gang member was shot by police after pulling a gun on them, his family and friends began to protest peacefully, shortly afterwards hundreds of inhabitants, chiefly from London's poorer suburbs, took to the streets and are now looting shops and burning down people's homes and businesses. They quite clearly have no political agenda, they're simply causing havoc and putting people's lives at risk for their own gain. The riots have spread to many districts of London and several other large cities in the UK, the police have been deployed but are greatly outnumbered and many police personnel are probably too scared to use their batons for fear of being sued or losing their jobs as has happened many a time in the past, I for one find it absolutely disgusting that these terrible events are occuring in my so-called "civilised" country when truly poverty-stricken and downtrodden individuals from the Middle East have been able to protest peacefully with the aim to change things and stop tyrannical regimes.

We had a riot in Dublin some years ago when the "love Ulster" march came to town. Horrible idea which was always gonna end in disaster. Anyway, our boys in blue sorted it in a few hours with water cannons. Why the Brits are not allowed use water cannons on the scum of the earth is absolutely baffling to me.

Senior met officer says that water cannons have to be used in open spaces.

The solution is fairly simple, shut off the mobile network.

To elaborate further on why these riots are happening, the main claim now is that it is down to the government austerity measures. Well, bugger me - what an excuse. These looters are after things they claim they can't have and don't want to pay for and then blaming everyone else for not having the cash to do so.

There was an interview on the BBC website, two girls involved in the rioting and looting were talking about the things they had stolen and then claimed that "it's the government's fault, the conserva..tives or whoever it is, innit?" and then said that their burning and devastation of local businesses was fine because "it's the rich people and they deserve it, because it's all their fault". It's clear that 99% of theses rioters couldn't care less about politics, like Albie said they just want to take what they can't be bothered to earn through hard work.

What a bollocks claim. I heard some moron on the radio this morning citing as a reason for this the fact that David Cameron, Boris Johnson and the other politicians are(/were) currently on holiday and these poor kids can't afford to do the same. What!!!! Incredible stupidity all round. If there are more rioters than policemen on the roads then violence needs to be met with stronger retaliation. It used to be a police force rather than a "service"; let them use water cannon, rubber bullets, truncheons to break arms, whatever it takes to let this scum know they can't do what they like. Get a job and work hard like the rest of the country, wankers.

That was one of my links ^

But yea, totally stupid. Bet she doesn't even understand what a Conservative is, just something she heard off someone else. Maybe if she paid attention at school she could have been one of the 'rich people'.

I didn't realise the UK police was more lax than the German one. Here, they go after harmless protesters with valid demands with water cannons and pepper spray.

By experience, I usually tend to side with rioters, because I often see how they evolved from people demanding reasonable things who weren't heard. But in this case, I completely fail to understand their point, or lack thereof. Maybe it's an outburst of frustration like what happened in France in 2005, but that doesn't warrant this sort of violence. The problem is that you can't really talk to these people, because they don't seem to have any interest in that sort of thing.

The problem is that they are all kids, jumping on the bandwagon to have a 'good' night out causing chaos.. and perhaps get some new trainers on the way. They have no agenda and no reason for their behaviour. It is mindless. You have to wonder what the hell these youngster's parents are doing. They must know that if their children are not home late at night it is quite likely they are up to no good. Especially if they turn up with a new PS3 in the morning.

As many of these people should be rounded up and put in jail for all the damage and injuries that have happened (not to mention all the money being spent to fight the riots).    I have zero sympathy for these people, no matter what their cause.  They live in a country where office holders and policies can be changed via a ballot box.  The police need to use whatever they need to use to quell these looters and thugs.
