best CD ripper and best bitrate to use ? i am currently using CBR 320kbps but the file sizes are too big and i am wondering if there are lower bitrates with the same quality. i mainly listen to music on my phone speaker or headphones. so what is the best bitrate for that purpose ?
Try using variable bit rate (VBR) at 196 kbps, it should reduce the size quite a bit, and I don't think you'll be able to hear much of a difference. Especially not on a phone speaker.
Yes, definitely use VBR as oppose to CBR but I would play about with the bit-rate to suit. I tend to use 256kps and mainly listen to music through my laptop speakers.
