Here's Bruce's comment on Britney Spears from Rock in Rio III, which didn't make it onto the album and DVD!

[!--QuoteBegin--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]If you thought Britney-fucking-Spears was fucking cool, then take a look at us you motherfuckers, you lame fucks!
Mav wrote about this in the Commentary, on how Bruce was being...an arrogant SOB.

It's sad Bruce is so rude nowadays. Everyone who thinks Maiden is just another of those arrogant swearing bands will attend a gig and there they will hear "fucking scream fucking louder" and they will think they are right. Bruce was a lot funnier back in the eighties when he was talking and joking a bit more, and wasn't swearing so much.

There was a few other things. On 2 Minutes, he jumped on a camera trolley that was moving in front of the stage, and shouted out "Take this Michael-fucking-Jackson!"

Seriously, give the guy a break. He gets it from all sides as it is...and that's not even funny.

Thank god this kind of shit wasn't included on the actual Rock In Rio CD's and DVD's. I never actually saw a concert from this tour so I didn't know what Bruce was like on it but I guess I didn't miss anything. What the hell happened to Bruce? [!--emo&:(--]/sad.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'sad.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I almost wonder if Bruce didn't go to a Slipknot concert or two before starting the tour...

Do you really know what He´s talking about? Should we start aTopic about `How is Maiden pushing their Fans`? I think it could be the right time now! [!--emo&:o--]/ohmy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'ohmy.gif\' /][!--endemo--] So, let´s start it! (maybe) [!--emo&B)--]/cool.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'cool.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I thought it was pretty funny when I first heard it [!--emo&^_^--]/happy.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'happy.gif\' /][!--endemo--] but I didn't knew about the jackson thing. He also mentionned him in a gig in france for the DoD tour

I dont know for the whole tour but at the gig at the bell center(MTL) in august and january he didnt swear at all. Ok, he was talking in french most of the time but.... [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Maybe Bruce got over-excited. I mean look, there's Maiden doing a major comeback, one everyone would dream of. It's only natural that you suddenly feel on top of the world and lose the feel of where your borders are.
I think he realized that what he was doing wasn't right afterwards. I've heard quite a few bootlegs from the DoD tour, and read a few reviews, and he seems to have calmed down greatly. I didn't hear any swearing (except for "Death In Pacaembu" where he got mad at a crowd of people who kept on pushing and endangered the lives of the people in the front), nor didn't read about anything inapropriate.

That's a good point, Perun. The few times I heard Bruce went off on fans was when he got pissed off at the guy who threw ice cubes at him, at LA. And according to one review some guy was smoking in his face at one of the Canadian venues, which obviously got him mad.

I have all those bootlegs [!--emo&<_<--]/dry.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'dry.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

I think the DoD tour was very low key compared to others, thats not to say it wasnt fantastic (because it was).

One observation, Bruce's voice was absolutely fantastic on the DoD tour and since he's come back to Maiden it has been VERY good live. This is co-incidently the time that he stops banter with the audience.

Wheras, previously I have to say Bruces voice live didnt cut it (except certain particular concerts) from 1986 onwards, and this is where he did loads of banter and got everyone wound up.

He's still a great crowd pleaser these days which is nice, and still has great stage presence.

That´s well observed Perun and LooseCannon. The commentary on about the give me ed tour says that the old Bruce was back, but I don´t agree completely with that.

I have the Waldrock bootleg and anyone who has this bootleg might remember his very long (and even boring) rant before the song "The Clansman" about the various types of heavy metal and where maiden belongs into them as also some curses on MTV (a thing that happened lot of times since Bruce came back). Altough I agree with what he had said in that rant I always feel annoyed with the "motherfuckers" and "shits" that he says.

The DoD tour really was different. On Bercy he cursed MTV too, but I think it was in a more inteligent way (Those who have the bootleg and CAN UNDERSTAND FRENCH may correct me). He seemed to have more fun with the gigs and not to worry to "warn every single soul in this world that Maiden is the best fucking band in the world"). The São Paulo incident, which can be heard at the bootleg Death in Pacaembu, was something totally different. Hours before the show some people from the organization team asked to the crowd to "stop fucking pushing" who of course were not obeyed, following an stupid belief in my country amongst young people in general that say that if someone teel you to do this way, YOU DO ALL REVERSE. I was there in the middle and really got pleased and Bruce asked in a "so nicely and cute way".

Some days ago I could got my hands in a real nice bootleg of the show in Rio, that became the rock in rio DVD. I didn´t know about the Michael Jackson thing, and I´m still trying to understand why he mentioned Jackson in there !!!?

Anyway, I guess that none of us want to see that Bruce again [!--emo&:nana:--]/lambada.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'lambada.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

He was moving backwards...I guess he was refering to Jackson's infamous moonwalk.

[!--QuoteBegin-LooseCannon+Jun 2 2004, 06:12 PM--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE(LooseCannon @ Jun 2 2004, 06:12 PM)[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--] He was moving backwards...I guess he was refering to Jackson's infamous moonwalk.
Well that makes the thing even more stupid. [!--emo&--]/blink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

One thing that I did not undestood at all was the rant before Run to the Hills. At first he seemed to say that they didn´t want to be "nostalgical band that play those old fucking heavy metal things" they wanted to do "new fucking records and new songs". Then said that "this is a song we haven´t played for a while, and you fucking deserve, so we are goin to play it for you now". So......... err........ what´s up then !?

Bruce sometimes can be funny, unfortunatelly, not always for good reasons...

[!--QuoteBegin--][div class=\'quotetop\']QUOTE[/div][div class=\'quotemain\'][!--QuoteEBegin--]And according to one review some guy was smoking in his face at one of the Canadian venues, which obviously got him mad
Yep that's true but I think he was more annoyed than mad at the guy
By the way it was at montreal

What he said is the reason why they got a #3 album was not because of the band nor the EMI nor MTV (then he laughted). It was the fan who were resonsible for the #3 album.

My thoughts exactly.
Although, I didn't think it was that bad, what he said... but it wasn't necessary.

Even if Bruce was a bit free-speekin here, i like it! [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
