When the competitions at Malta had just begun were the swedish Gabor Vargas and Eddie Goggins among with others to show of a little in their planes while flying around in a special course. Bruce Dickinson was to comment the event in his plane. When Vargas had passed the third mark he got company. Goggins had just got up to vargas, and at the same time Goggins were loosing altitude. He krached right in to Vargas tail and the tail broke. Right after that Vargas came down in the sea. It's assumed that he was killed instantly. At the time Bruce were only 50 meters from the two planes and were the witness closest to the krasch.

It's very sad. Vargas was absolutly not a bad pilot. He held several world records and he was also the world champion in freestyle in 2004.
