Bill Tanner? He in cahoots with Biff Tannen?

Nice to see Batista move on to another prominent role from Drax too.

Skyfall was unexpectedly awesome. I liked Brosnan's Bond movies too, most of the other movies I've only seen in passing on TV. Can't wait for Spectre!

I really, really liked Skyfall. It made up for Quantum of Solace, which is a lower-ranked Bond in my books. For my money, it goes a little like this:
Casino Royale
Goldeneye
Skyfall
Goldfinger
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Man With the Golden Gun

Skyfall is one of my favourite movies ever. I know that might sound like hyperbole, but it got the James Bond formula 100% right, whilst offering a completely new experience. It's a massive amount of fun.

Yes, I completely agree. And it had fantastic performances from, well, everyone, and it gave me the setup for the Bond stories we are used to. M. Q. Moneypenny. I'm really glad they're back. But I also love Casino Royale, because I firmly think that Daniel Craig is the best Bond, and that in 50 years, he'll be the yardstick (because all people will say nobody can live up to Connery).

I think Roger Moore is the best Bond funnily enough. There's just something about him that captures the it factor of the character. Connery and Craig are tied for second personally.

I thought the same when I was young and foolish too.

I liked the earlier Moore movies, but his latter ones were pretty poor IMO.
Live and Let Die is atrocious in every way, except for the theme and Jane Seymore.

I agree there. I think after Moonraker (underrated one), it went somewhat downhill after that.

Brosnan was alright. Goldeneye was a great film, everything else was watchable.

I liked LIve and Let Die, but I was thinking more along the lines of The Spy Who Loved Me, Man With the Golden Gun, and For Your Eyes Only. Moonraker was the first Bond movie I saw in the theater, it does not hold up well, but was fun at the time.

The Spy Who Loved Me, Man With the Golden Gun, and For Your Eyes Only.
Yes, those three are the best Moore ones, and they're up there. But his later ones go downhill. Moonraker is fun only for how atrocious it is.

From what I remember, Moonraker was over the top and silly, but not necessarily terrible. Kind of in the same league of movies like Face-Off and Commando, except not quite as goofy as those.

I still haven't seen the last two Bond films. I was tempted to see Skyfall when it came out, but I still hadn't seen its predecessor yet at that time. Still haven't. I heard that the order was important.

Besides, a while back I started with (re-)watching all Bond films in chronological order, with long breaks in between them as of late.

Up next: The Living Daylights (1987).

Live and Let Die is probably my favourite with Moore, if not my overall favourite Bond film. Not sure.

Quantum of Solace was pretty poor, but you are really missing out on Skyfall. It is just a great film period (Bond film or not)
