Today we have the "classic" The Number of the Beast album. Almost every song received a vote or two in part 2 but it was relatively easy-win for the title track in Killers. As we are moving towards the fan- favourite albums I think the competition will get tougher. We will see...

Already in round 2: Phantom of the Opera, Killers

Hallowed be thy Name was my favorite IM song for decades until Hell on Earth so this is one of those extremely rare occasions where I believe I won’t be an outlier.

Though I think the album's a bit overrated in Maiden's discography, there are still some really excellent songs here. It feels a bit cliché, but I gotta go with Hallowed Be Thy Name. Come on, it really is one of the greatest heavy metal epics ever written.

For me this comes down to the title track or “Hallowed Be Thy Name”, both 10/10 tracks in my opinion. Despite the Beckett controversy, I think “Hallowed” still edges this one out for epicness and lyrical content, even if that content isn’t 100% their own.

During the album vs. album contests I learned that my favorite IM material is very different than that of the majority of IM fans, so it's somewhat surprising to see that I've agreed with the majority so far on all 3 of these favorite song polls so far. The only one I had to give serious thought to was Killers vs. Murders in the Rue Morgue.

However I suspect that's about to change very soon.

Children Of The Damned all the way. Especially the album version. They never were able to recreate the mood and the vibe of this song any time later than they did for the album. Unique.
Hallowed for sure is great and works well live, but the COTD studio version is a genius master strike.
