I'm going with Ghost of the Navigator, it's so majestic yet powerful. It's very accessible and easy for anyone to enjoy without feeling poppy or un-Maidenlike. The guitars and vocals are both excellent.
Montsegur is a close second just for its sheer heaviness.

I agree with Helphyre. Ghost.. is also pretty aggressive, something I like on the somewhat polished BNW.

Did anyone say 'Ghost of the Navigator'? Did anyone? THE GHOOOOST OF THE NAVIGATOOOR!

This is a frickin' gret track! I mean, the slow intro, with the clean chords in the background with Janick playing the melody which sounds quite 'dreamy'. And after that, there's this great riff! Excellent crunching "chugga chugga" riff which does the business!

Not to mention the lyrics. This is what I've talked about before, how Halford and Bruce are alike as lyricists. Both likes to create pictures inside the listener's head. You can't listen to Ghost of the Navigator without seeing a ship cruising along the waves before your eyes.

I also like how the guitarmelody follows the vocals at times in the song, i.e. just before Janick's crazy yet perfectly executed solo.

And let's not talk about the wonderful drumming by Nicko! This is Nicko at his best with his wonderful fills all over the track.

Oh, wait... You probably want to know what song I'll vote for. Well I leave you to figure it out yourself.

Out of the four, Ghost of the Navigator stands as an almost clear winner, had it not been for Out of the Silent Planet. Galloping Maiden at their best.

Bruce Dickinson said:
Certainly by halfway through the song 'cos I certainly wanted to get into the old gallop bit from the get go and Steve was like "Let's not give it to 'em straight away".
I love that quote. :D

It's pretty easy for me. Ghost wins.

I remember that quote there, Albie, was that off of Wiki or the Commentary?

I remember that song off of Rock In Rio and they did great with it!  :D

For me, it is Ghost of the Navigator, but for Out of the Silent Planet.

I am think it is time for Out of the Silent Planet.

The Vote must be for that song.  It is my number one of this poll.

It has to be Ghost of the Navigator for me.  It's one of the few tracks Maiden have released recently that is just as good live as on the studio album.

The intro is perfectly calm, and when the acoustic bridge into the distorted main riff kicks in, it energises you.  The rest of the song is just out-and-out win.

I like that description and I agree totally with that moment, when that distorted main riff kicks in!  :)

Actually, it´s somewhat sad  how Montsegur song is not so strong. The theme is excellent,  but the music doesn´t fit the subject, and Dickinson's voice is... well... not in the best shape, at least.

I agree with most of you, i vote Ghost.

I love both Ghost and Silent Planet, but I vote Montsegur because it is a very well written song.  True, Bruce's voice may not sound its best, but that song captures a classic Maiden vibe while not sounding derivitive to me.

It becomes too much of a habit for me, this agreeing. But I have to agree on all the good things said about Ghost of the Navigator in this thread, and I also have to vote for it ...
