Wondering if anyone knows what the instrumental bit is that plays in the benning of Chapter Five on the LAD DVD as the band drives into Wrocklaw in Poland. Not Maiden as far as I can tell.

Its sounds like Adrian just playing some random jamming with the Revelations riff. (He does mention in the history part 2 doc that he did do a lot of that whilst waiting between gigs).
Shame on you for not recognising the Revelations riff in there!

Wouldn't that be Bruce then?

No?

Im guessing Adrian because:
1. He mentioned that he liked to play about with his guitar while on tour.
2. He mentioned that he regularly used to come down to play with Bruce on the Piece of Mind album (so, one would assume he may have had input on songs like Revelations.)
3. There is distinctly the main guitar riff to Revelations in that piece of music. (Thus its unlikely to be someone not from Maiden, especially if its on an official Maiden document.)
4. Although im not the greatest at picking out sounds, Im pretty sure thats Adrians playing when I hear it. Especially after all those videos and bootlegs and such ive heard with him messing about on his guitar (e.g. his guitar lesson on youtube).

Of course, this is me just taking what I see/hear and putting it together. It may likely be Dave too. I highly doubt its Bruce at all, as much as he can play guitar (very little, it seems, just the basic stuff for writing songs I reckon) and it doesnt seem like a thing he would do. Still, an unlikely possibility.

I don't know, you might be right but I thought it sounded more like the calm piece in "Powerslave". Demo kind of stuff (thus a bit different).

Piece of Mind material wouldn't make sense on that documentary (in between the live performances). Again, you might be right. At least it's very atmospheric and I especially also love that Powerslave instrumental part, with the brightest, clearest, most beautiful solos ever!
