A friend of mine downloaded some Maiden tracks from the new album a while back (he wanted a sneak listen) and downloaded a song that was labeled "For The Greater Good Of God" - however its a completely different track than the one on the album. Its a beautiful song, and its surely Bruce on the vocals. It has a ton of female chorus, keyboards, etc. Its beautiful, but its not FTGGOG. Such are p2p networkings, right? Anyway...

I looked the lyrics up for the song, and found the true song title/band. It's Ayreon's "Into The Black Hole"

I never heard of this band before. So I did some Googling, and found out that Bruce provided vocals on a track on the album called "Universal Migrator Part 2: Flight of the Migrator" - and the track he sang on is on this album.

So I found out that it's not Maiden, but as Bruce goes & the song, its really quite stunning! In fact I think I like it better than FTGGOG on the album.

Ayreon was a longtime project of Dutch guitarist/songwriter Arjen Lucassen (who is now busy with his band Stream of Passion).

Actually, Arjen wanted to do a whole album with Bruce (Bruce even agreed) but because some fan of Lucassen leaked it on internet Rod cancelled the whole project.

Arjen was astonished, tried to contact Bruce but never got a word back again. Bruce has never commented on issue. I also would be curious to see such a collaboration again, but Roy Z is still number one! :-)

Thanks for your reply! Interesting info.

I have listened to that "Into The Black Hole" track several times now, its a superb track.
