Another gig, another thread. You can post reviews and pictures here, but please don't forget the spoiler tags when relevant. Have some respect for those who do not want to know anything until they attend a show themselves.

Another thing: posts with simple "great show!" or "I can't wait 'til I see them too!" statements will be deleted, as they clutter the thread for nothing. You're supposed to post your own review of the gig, good or bad, as well as share with us the little incidents that sometimes occur at some venues.

Thanks for your understanding!  :)

The opening act, I dont think was all that great, and made more of an effort to be painfully loud and screaming half the time, too heavy bass drum driven then they needed to be. If they'd have toned it down just a bit, they'd have had much better quality sound rolling out.

But Maiden? I thought they goddamned ruled. This is about the 10th or 11th tour I've been to, since the early 80's...and I gotta say as far as I'm concerned they sound and put on a better show then ever. I had never been to Tweeter Center, but I liked the venue. The Tank malfunctioned and didnt come up on stage, Bruce said there was a power issue...but Eddie came out soldiered up on his own. I also heard during the opening songs some sort of possible bass or vocal feedback a couple times, but they fixed that quick, and most didnt notice anyway. Same setlist I believe from Hartford. I heard some grumblings from the crowd about the whole album being played, but very little. Most of the audience was really into it, and even Bruce commented on that at the completion of the AMOLAD set. Despite the tank fizzin' out, it still kicked ass. Was the first show for my 13 yr old son, who was blown away and wants to know when theyre comin back. Never gets old when you take your kid to see a band you saw at his age.

Since not many other people have commented on this show, I thought I'd give it a go.  I'm a noob, but don't hold that against me.

The set list was the same as the other shows - the entire MOLAD album followed by Fear of the Dark and Iron Maiden with an encore of Two Minutes to Midnight, Evil that Men Do, Hallowed by Thy Name.  The band was in great form - they sounded great, and the guys are in really good shape for men their age (rock-n-roll keeps you young, I suppose).  The crowd was really into it, cheering and chanting and waiving flags.  It was definitely a good time.  Like some of the other posters here, I would have preferred mixing in some classic material with the new stuff - playing the entire new album in order was a bit indulgent in my opinion.  But, as my friend said, any Maiden is better than no Maiden.  I enjoyed "These Colours Don't Run", "Longest Day", "FTGOG", and "Lord of Light".  I thought "The Pilgrim" was a little weak.  I noticed the same problem that others have noticed with Bruce's vocals - at times I couldn't hear him and there were some feedback issues.  There were also some feedback issues with Steve's bass.  The most interesting thing about the show came towards the end.  Bruce came out for the encore in the end and told us how he'd done a radio interview earlier in the day in which he was asked about "the most Spinal Tap moment" of his career.  He said that it may have just happened - as the tank with the Eddie could not make an appearance because they didn't have the right electrical plug.  He blamed the Philadelphia power company (which was a bit surprising since the gig was in New Jersey ;)) but Eddie did manage to make an appearance in his ten foot form, carrying a gun.  It must have been their back up plan.

Great show - you definitely need to get out and see it.  Now I can't wait for this rumored 2008 "Powerslave" tour.

My take on the show
We were there as well.  The thing that sucked came on the first day tickets were available.  I went to ticketmaster online the second they went onsale and got tickets in the PIT.  Now, never having gone to the tweeter at the moment I got the tickets I wasn't sure if we wanted to stand in the pit, being a little over 35 with bad knees.  I
gave up those tickets and the next ones they gave me were in section 100 about 15 rows back.  HA!  Great.  Looks perfect.  So, we get there, wait in line for the doors.  It was fun.  There were OLD and NEW, Old and Young, hell even saw a few Families...  Sweet, keep it in the family.  We get in and get 2 shirts for $40 each.  Ah well, how often do you get to get one.

We find our seats and they sucked!  From our location you could not see Jannick nor the entire Drumset.  So much for getting tickets at 10:01 on opening day.  Next time I will know better.  Anywho...

The show starts with Bullet for my valentine.  I really did not them.  I did download a few songs and played them on the way to the show.  Sounded all right. good instruments, voice good go though.  They came on and played what seemed like a very short set, what?  Maybe 30 minutes.  Couldn't be much more because Maiden was on around 8:40.  I've been listening to them in the car a few times since the show, I think they are better then a lot of people give them credit for.  I mean, not great but they're ok.

Maiden came on a lot earlier then I thought.  Around 8:40.  I had managed to avoid this site and any reference to their 2 earlier shows so that the setlist would be a surprise.  The shows opening started of course with Doctor Doctor and the crowd went nuts.  Definately not a lot of new comings.  The house lights dimmed and the preshow intro started.  A lot of red laser lights to a burned out city backdrop.  Then BOOM....  Maiden right into Different World.  The crowd was going nuts, even a guy in the front of the pit with a huge British Flag.  I think they made the guy take the falg down a few songs in because I did not see it after.

It's funny though, they do Different World, then These Colours Don't Run and the next song and next and I'm thinking, gee this is weird, how many in a row.  Around that time, Bruce announced they were doing the whole album.  The crowd went nuts again.  I think the guy behind me said something like, "I wish I had bought the new album" but other then that, people went with it.  A very unique concept for them.  I heard A lot of people singing along withevery new song.  I know I did.  FTGGOG had these awesome lights that looked like sun beams shooting through the clouds.  I loved it, wish I had my camera at the time.  When they finished up the legacy, they went into FOTD and the crowd went from nuts to insane.  While the Tweeter only holds 7500 indoors I felt like I was in a 20,000 seat European gig.  I had expected a song or two after this before the song Iron Maiden so I was surprised when they went into IM.  Knowing that most Maiden shows only have 3 encores, it seemed short even though the show clocked in at 1:45.  For the encore I kept waiting for Paschendale but with 11:58, TEMD and HBTN it wasn't bad.

I was very surprised when they closed the set with HBTN.  While it is in my top 5 songs I dont see it as a set closer.  It's alright though because it was such a unique night.

As the previous poster mentioned, during the song IM when Eddie usually comes out behind Nicko, the band stopped and there was a lot of rattling and sounds of a huge tank and the guys are on stage with their backs to the audience and nothing.  It was very weird.  Before the encore, Bruce then talked about a radio DJ asking him what the most SPinal Tap moment was.  He said something about his pants splitting and his balls hanging out but they said that the incident during the somg Iron MAiden could now be it.  No eddie do to Power restraints.  It was funny because he said they were working on it and then Adrian stuck his head in back of the curtain and then strugged his shoulders.  Eddie did come out though during TEMD (i think, could have been 11:58) in Army gear with a gun.  Pretty Cool.

All in All it was definately the most unique Maiden concert I've been to.  A lot of people bitched after the show about the lack of the TROOPER, NOTB and RTTH.  1 guy complained that they didn't play Ace's High, though I mean, really.

As for the band...
Bruce - Great Show although his clothes reminded me of a lounge act or something.  He did not announce the band which I thought was weird.

Dave -  Played well.  Dave is Dave.  Love Dave.

Adrian - Basically stood behind Dave for the entire show.  Very little movement.

Jannick - I think Jannick moves more then Dave and Adrian combined.  A lot of people complain about Jannick
but I like him.  He's a nut on stage and I think he helps breathe life into Maiden.

Steve - The king.  I'd love to meet Steve one day and thank him for giving me his gift for the past 20+ years.

Nicko - Played well, couldn't see him though.

While I am very glad they played the entire Album, they could have done it and switched things up a little, however not a problem and made a great night.
