7/15/10 Cleveland Concert - Blossom, what ticket to get?

A bunch of friends and I are seeing Dream Theater and Maiden in Cleveland at Blossom on the 15th. Close seat tickets are sold separately for more money, but you can get packs of 4 of the farther back lawn seats for much cheaper.

I AM BY FAR!!!! the biggest Maiden fan out of our group of friends (DREAMED of seeing them since I was 7 and still haven't!!!) and couldn't decide if I should just get my own ticket for close seats and let them get the lawn seats, or if it'd be better to enjoy the experience with them.

What should I do?

I'm in a similar position. I'm the biggest Maiden fan among my friends, but the others do like the band. I would say take the seats with your friends. It'd be great to be up front, but you'd miss throwing fists up with your friends, singing along, stuff like that. Hell, they'll probably have such a great time that the next time Maiden comes, they will want to be up front right along with you.  :shred:

I'm with Jason on this. Enjoy your first concert!

Also, I'm curious. What sparked your interest in seeing Maiden in concert at such a young age?

Well I grew up on Metallica, then was introduced to Maiden by my oldest brother. He showed me Powerslave and their Live After Death CDs.

I would listen to them all day

Get.  As.  Close.  As.  You.  Can.  You won't regret being in the pit, even if you're going it alone.

See, other than the far back lawn seats it's mostly a seated venue, so it wouldn't be much of a pit.

Ah, well that tells me how you got into their music, but what got you so interested into actually wanting to see a concert? Did you see a live DVD or hear about their concerts?

It was their Live After Death album! I'd listen to it beginning to end at least 5 times a day and have the biggest adrenaline rush one could possibly get!!

That's awesome that at such a young age, that even though you didn't know what a concert was like visually, that just hearing a live album would get you that interested! Had you ever seen any band's concerts ever? Through either going or on TV? If I just heard a live album and had no idea what a concert was like, I don't think I would be that interested in going.

Mm, it's really hard to remember, I don't remember seeing any specific concerts on TV. My first concert was Dream Theater on their Octavarium tour.

DT? Sweet! Now you'll be seeing them with the mighty Maiden! Again, enjoy your first Maiden show! :rocker: Also, since it's hard to say what their future is and the fact that you never know if they'll come to your area again, I now recommend you get up close and if they do come back again, you and your friends can all get up close.

Alright guys, I've decided to go it alone and get as close as possible. I'm going to eBay and paying ridiculous prices, I realized it'll be worth it!!! This is a map of the venue.

Should I get section 13/14/12 or Pit? I assumed the pit would be the grey section behind sections 12/13/14, but I've been told it's the very front of the entire venue. The Pit is considerably more expensive ($325 vs. $200-250).

Also, how can I be sure that I don't need to present the credit card of the original purchaser of the ticket at the venue?

The pit is more expensive than the closer numbered seats? I say save some money and get a closer, numbered seat in the center of section 13. Also, it's really nice to have an assigned seat if you can because in the pit, you get moved around a lot and your view of the stage can get obstructed, but if you always have the same seat, you always have the same view.

About presenting the credit card of the original owner, I would suggest contacting the venue and telling them that you're buying a ticket from eBay and ask how that works.

Best of luck and have fun!

Well, as for what I've been told, the Pit is actually in front of the seats, not that grey section. So it'll be closer. Still not worth it?

Well, I'd personally rather have an assigned seat than the pit for the reason I gave. The only time I was on the floor at a Maiden show was in 2000 and the entire floor was an open pit. It wasn't too bad I guess, but I still would have rather been in an assigned seat. Either way, I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE you will have the MOST AMAZING time of your life! :rocker:
