Post 2 underrated albums, 2 overrated albums, 2 right-rated albums (rated as they should be by a majority of the fanbase) and the 2 best songs from each. Let's start with Iron Maiden, shall we?

Underrated:

Dance of Death: (best songs: Paschendale, Montsegur)
Killers: (best songs: Murders in the Rue Morgue, Purgatory)

Overrated:

A Matter of Life and Death (Out of the Shadows, The Legacy)
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Moonchild, Title Track)

Right-Rated:

Powerslave (Aces High, Rime of the Ancient Mariner)
Somewhere In TIme (Stranger in a Strange Land, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner)

Underrated:
The X Factor (Lord Of The Flies, Sign Of The Cross)
Virtual XI (Como Estais Amigos, The Clansman)

Overrated:
Killers (Murders In The Rue Morgue, Wrathchild)
Iron Maiden (Phantom Of The Opera, Iron Maiden)

Right-Rated:
Powerslave (Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Aces High)
Brave New World (Out Of The Silent Planet, The Thin Line Between Love And Hate)

Underrated:
Killers - Title Track, Murders in the Rue Morgue
AMOLAD (Maiden's most consistenly great album): Longest Day, Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

Overrated:
TBOS - Title track, If Eternity Should Fail
Powerslave (it has enourmous peaks, but I find the middle of the album to be fairly filler) - Title Track, Rime

Right-Rated
Brave New World - Blood Brothers, Title Track
The Number of The Beast - Hallowed, Title Track

Underrated:
The X Factor (Sign of the Cross, Fortunes of War)
The Final Frontier (Coming Home, When the Wild Wind Blows)

Overrated
Powerslave (Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner)
A Matter of Life and Death (Different World, The Longest Day)

Fairly rated
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Infinite Dreams, The Evil That Men Do)
Brave New World (Dream of Mirrors, Out of the Silent Planet)

I'd be fine with this if there was discussion and an attempt to come to a consensus. However, this is quite close to ending up in Can I Play With Madness?

OK.

Let's remember this is a new forum member who is trying to participate. That means we give a little leeway before we immediately complain about the content of the post. I have cleaned up this thread to reflect that reality.

The correct way to do this is to ask for some details. A discussion around what's overrated/underrated could be interesting and it's a common topic.

If you don't want to participate, please don't.
