1st maiden show coming up, what to expect?

That depends on how you like your shows, Invader. I don't want to be with the craziest fans. I want a seat (remember, I'm old ... I think only Albie is older than me on this forum) and I don't want to have to fight for a good view or get knocked around too much.

Yes, all right, but the OP is a first timer, so I'd guess he wants to be in on the action. :)  In any case, I have the impression that American gigs are a lot different from European, or at least Finnish gigs, in that the people in the seats are pretty active too and there are proportionally more seats than standing places in comparison to Europe.  I've been in the seats a couple of times, and it (to me) is damn lame because no one does anything but claps in the end of every song.  It's like some fucking tea party, they don't even sing along.  And though I understand where you're coming from (enjoying the music), I go to gigs to be part of an audience, and if I want to just listen to the songs I listen to a live album.  But yes, maybe when I've seen Maiden ten times (never gonna happen, they'll retire) I'll probably share your attitude. ;)

Well, this OP is 30 years old.  I picked the first section of seats right behind the pit area.  I've never been a fan of pushing and shoving, and i'm a little guy with a wife to look after.  So, I chose the closest seats I could so I could soak up as much of the band and stage show as possible.

Given that, good choice.
