I was hoping the band would play (for the 2nd time) in Asuncion, Paraguay. That's a country I'm interested in visiting - but, given how well the tour has been selling, it looks unlikely that they'll play in such a small market. Que lastima!
These are the two that jump out to me. As far as I'm aware, these are the only Maiden songs written in F minor and G# minor.
I always found the F power chord towards the end of the instrumental section in "To Tame A Land" quite jarring.
I've always found the intro on The Clairvoyant tricky. I always want to cram in more notes. The riff is completely straightforward from a technical standpoint, but some of the notes need space so that they can breath. The key is to play less, not more (which is counter-intuitive for Harris)...
I've seen Imagine Dragons twice with my younger cousin, who's a big fan. It's not really my type of music, but they have some catchy songs, and they certainly put on a fun, engaging show.
A final update from Hungary (for anyone who finds this interesting).
Between the two shows (morning/afternoon of May 28th), I explored Buda (the hilly, western side of the city). There are many beautiful buildings (the castle, Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion). I refueled with langos...
Here's how difficult the songs are for Harris to play (in my opinion):
Murders in the Rue Morgue - it's fast, but not too difficult. (The toughest part is the intro with the harmonics, which is played from a tape).
Wrathchild - this one is tougher than many people think, but not too bad...
I was on the floor for the first two shows. Some quick comments:
The setlist was fairly good overall. Obviously, it was primarily targeted towards more casual fans. A first time concert-goer would be thrilled with these selections (most of the big hits, with a few epics). Like most people on...
I've been in Budapest for four days. It's been a whirlwind. (Hopefully this summary is interesting to some of you).
I arrived on Friday afternoon. I visited the House of Terror museum (which used to be the headquarters of the Nazis, and then the Soviets). It's a great concept (turning the...
I'm here too. I spent the past two days exploring. Yesterday I walked 38 km according to my phone... probably not the smartest decision. Will rest up tomorrow and get ready for the floor both nights!
He played two concerts in Toronto, Canada in 2017 and 2019. Both were at small venues (350 capacity), and neither show was anywhere close to being full. I wonder if it was the same thing with his US shows. Sadly it might not be financially viable for him to play in Canada and/or the US (but I...
Here's the length of the band's setlists over the past decade. It's quite consistent, in a tight range from 93 to 97 minutes:
2016 (Book of Souls - first leg): 15 songs, 97 minutes
2017 (Book of Souls - second leg): 15 songs, 94 minutes
2018 & 2019 (Legacy of the Beast - first leg): 16 songs...
The Maiden England (2012/13) setlist was good. The strange part was they played two songs that hadn't been written until a few years after the original tour - Fear of the Dark (a fan favourite) and Afraid to Shoot Strangers (a great song, and it hadn't been played live since 1998).
I would have...
I just pre-ordered the vinyl. I should have bought the re-issue in 2015. I check periodically on ebay and the price (for the 2015 edition) is usually several hundred Canadian dollars. Hopefully he brings the tour to Canada at some point.
