    General Iron Maiden discussion

Who the fuck did that horrendous AI upscale job on that? It looks like shit! It's like Bruce is made out of wax or something, he's so smooth and has highlights on him. Not to mention taking a perfectly good video and cropping most of the fucking frame out so you can repost it as a short.

    18th Studio Album discussion

Yeah and even those sessions had their fair share of grumbling (from Nicko at least) since not everyone was as enthusiastic about heading back in the studio in the middle of winter in Paris. I would honestly not be surprised if it turned out that it's really only Bruce who has any real interest...

The third Blaze-sung Maiden album: lyrically a fusion of Silicon Messiah and BNW, but musically rooted in BNW?

I believe he also offered an ultimatum: either Blaze goes or he does. Losing Nicko would've pretty much spelled the death of the band anyway at that stage so there was no path forward with Blaze at the helm.

    Interesting comment. Care to elaborate?

Well, when you're the greatest metal drummer on earth, I think you've earned some arrogance.

    18th Studio Album discussion

2027 seems like the most likely candidate for when the Paris live album/video will be released, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're planning on going bigger with it after such a long break with a limited cinema release and whatnot. It wouldn't be entirely inappropriate for Maiden's last...

    RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

Hey now, I was actually impressed at the low if nonzero number of people who replied to the announcement tweet with "what the hell WHEN'S THE AMERICAN TOUR," even though it wasn't exactly heavily emphasized (they probably should've still bolded some of the key sentences since they're paying for...

Will he be waving the Br- I'm sorry, English flag as he puts it during it?

BTW this isn't particularly uncommon in the metal scene since having a draft on you while you're sweating your ass off is not a good idea. Metallica is another such example.

Turns out you really can't play heavy metal with synthesizers! e: Jesus Christ you weren't kidding about the chorus. The funny thing is, the verses are so low I'm not even sure they could lower the key without causing issues on the other end.

If they played this in 2008? Almost certainly. In 2025 though, well...

Dad rock? Get your genres straight. Ghost is Swedish pop rock down to a T with the slightest twinge of distorted guitars in the mix. I don't begrudge Tobias Forge for finding ways to make a living off music (and all the same I don't have to enjoy it), but at the very least I'll still make sure...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I couldn't care less for Ghost, they're relatively inoffensive pop rock and my only real complaint these days is how much they get overplayed on the radio. However, stage show wise they're in another universe compared to Maiden and I think it's funny how some have convinced themselves that...

I was vaguely aware of Silver Wings but never really gave it a chance until they started playing it on the radio post-Mandrake release and I have to admit, it's not a half-bad tune that. They should play it live honestly, since AFAIK the only time it got played was in '02 and the potato-quality...

I've listened to it once and I have no desire to return to it. I've given albums like VXI or St. Anger multiple shots in comparison. I think the biggest sin Mandrake commits is simply being boring and uninteresting. It's not bad enough to hate with passion, but it's far from being good enough to...

Yes, which is why I didn't compare those two despite releasing the same year. AoB vs. VXI at least has some semblance of fairness to it since there's tracks that aren't very highly rated on the former, while TCW has what, Machine Men? And even that's not a crap song, just not up to par with the...

My argument is that there's one pretty good song on VXI, but it would never have got the recognition it does if it was stuck with the rest of them in peak Steve Harris production land. Not to mention Blaze's vocals not really doing the song much justice either. The rest of that album follows the...

Here's where I disagree: I don't think most people remember Futureal exists and Clansman would be similarly forgotten had it not been included on RiR. Much like SotC it really lives on thanks to its appearance on reunion era Maiden's first live album, which I personally also consider their very...
