I believe it is. Of course, I treat every commentary as a fact until I do a real research on the thing and when I can´t find a single thing it usually means that it didn´t happen. Keep your questions coming man I really enjoy answering... Also, if you can get my book it also helps :)
Ah I do rememner that interview where Bruce he says he brought a mattress to the stage, however, I must say that because of my extensive research during the making of my first book, where I gathered information from almost every single show of 1982, I have come to think that Bruce is...
Hey thanks for bringing my attention to this video!
I have to reconfirm this but as you can partially see in the video, during 'Heaven Can Wait' the support band, The Almighty, came on stage. Floyd London was using the famous checkered bass of Steve and stayed on stage after the 'Whoah...
It is dodgy... And has changed a bit through the years... For example, crediting a band member that wasn't in the band only happened in 1990.
Crediting a member on their first album 1995
And I still think that If Eternity Should Fail should be credited Roy Z/Dickinson so that would be the...
1. I completely understand your point. So I dug into one of my ebooks to get this pair of quotes:
"Bruce called me and I went 'round to see him and he brought out this song that sounded AC/DC-ish, and I said, 'Nah, it wants to be more like…' So I put the chords in and then we re-did the chorus...
You may enjoy this and also learn from Bruce himself about Bring Your Daughter... https://www.stereogum.com/2253452/bruce-dickinson-iron-maiden-the-mandrake-project-solo-career/interviews/weve-got-a-file-on-you/
@BludBrutha here's your answer... However, before saying that "it doesn't make sense" you should consider the entire situation in which Maiden were.
In 1981, Maiden was still an upcoming band and even though Paul had been in the band for three years and was identified as the voice of Maiden...
Explanation time my friend @srfc Bruce maybe competent on the guitar (and drums) however he likes to work with other people. He might have had the idea for the song played in his acoustic guitar, but, as he confessed to Mick Wall in the Run To The Hills book and is what @GhostofCain is quoting...
Completely agree... It was a full sh*t show unfortunately.
I was once contacted by Wilcock's lawyer and I know he contacted other fans... As I am a lawyer myself I told him to think about his client but he was so big headead that he thought he was the second coming of God or something and...
Janick and Bruce wrote all the songs (with the exception of 'No Lies' and obviously 'All The Young Dudes') in Tattooed Millionaire including 'Bring Your Daughter...' Bruce basically went to Janick's house with the idea of the song and Janick came up with the music, same as with the other songs...
First song that comes into my mind is Twilight Zone. Adrian incorporated to the song, riffs he had taken from a song he played in Evil Ways. He also contributed to musical passages on Prodigal Son and Murders In The Rue Morgue. Of course, we can delve in what deserves to be credited on songs...
Is really a pleasure mate.
Rod even set another rule which is. You don't get credits unless you stay more than a year in the band. Reason why Bruce, Adrian and Janick didn't get credits on their first albums even they did contribute to material in the albums.
The whole Wilcock thing ended...
This a subject I did studied when writting my first book.
The story can be summarised like this. Most of the songs that went into the two albums basically had collaborations by other band members, some of them changed quite a lot, for example, Floating (A.K.A Purgatory) and some not so much...
They have done things with past members privately. This is how the manage certain things. They have reach hands to almost every past member one way of another.
It would be kind of amazing to see them publicly recognising things that contradict many of the stories they have told for many...
