That doesn't mean the plans to go on tour with Maiden hadn't been in the works for a while, and that they honestly only started discussing them during rehearsals, just because it was then decided to make the first tentative public hints. We mustn’t confuse what’s officially presented to us with...

Why is that strange? The new Maiden album will be recorded early next year, followed by (a limited number of) Maiden live shows in the summer, and then Bruce's tour at the end of the year.

I like Simon and the way they sound this year, but I would have found it completely sensational if Maiden had completely surprised the world with something like this Anika Nilles move.

Too bad some people bought tickets because they thought it might be Maiden's final tour or their last tour for a long time. :D

I agree that it was very brave. You can like and recommend someone, but it might still turn out that your friend doesn't get along with that person, esspecially on tour. And Maiden played it safe. Someone Steve has known and toured with for a long time.

No, “a couple of years” doesn't mean 2028. It means two or more years. The wording doesn't make sense if you're specifically thinking of your plans for 2028. Right! 2028 (or perhaps even sooner?) in some cities, maybe in a couple of years at Rock am Ring again.

I’ve watched a lot of videos from Hanover, and I don’t think that’s fair. Bruce and Adrian, in particular, seem very fired up. Adrian is even running around more than he did when he was younger!! And as for the others, I think it’s more of a projection than anything else. There isn’t really any...

I really hope that's not true. At least Steve knows that British Lion is about him enjoying smaller live shows, but if Adrian really took his uninteresting, generic '70s hard rock so seriously that he wanted to put Iron Maiden on hold for a year because of it, I couldn't stop shaking my head.

Surely not a complete tour schedule for 2028, but, for example, an agreement to play (only) a limited number of the most important markets plus 1-2 small Eastern European countries to kick off the tour - I don’t see why something like that couldn’t have been discussed already.

But being unable to sing a certain song anymore and admitting to yourself that you are no longer good enough at it are two completely different things. A Bruce Dickinson who admits to himself that he can no longer sing a certain song is perhaps not such a common occurrence.
