Adrian’s 1986 Jackson had a neck with painted headstock at first, but I guess he wanted a custom headstock (modeled after a sunburst ‘57 Stratocaster he owned), and the neck with painted headstock was removed and the guitar got the new custom neck with natural finished headstock.
Probably this guitar was another prototype and Jackson had it ready for Adrian in case something happened but he never received it. And as it was said, this guitar is gloss white, so it ain’t one of Adrian’s guitars.
Both black pickguard Jacksons are still on H’s possession, both were the main drop-D guitars between 2008 and 2025, their necks were replaced, Adrian broke the original neck of the 2007 prototype in Freiburg 2018 and got a production one, the 2008 production model had its neck replaced also...
None of the two 2007 prototypes had H’s signature on the headstock. The 8431 (the drop D guitar, the one that was white with black pickguard) didn’t have anything on the headstock, and the 8432 (the one that was white with white pickguard) had “custom shop” written on the headstock instead of...
