I bought As Live As It Gets a while back because I’d heard good things and holy hell is it a good live album!
I never thought Blaze was the problem with the Maiden albums he sang on and this shows it.
As many others have said, easily the weakest song on the album. Not an awful track, but - along with “Invaders” - one of two that stick out as being much weaker than the rest of an otherwise stellar album (although I rate “Invaders” slightly higher because that at least has a really cool riff...
I've never thought Blaze's voice was the problem with the albums he sang on.
The problem is the songs are mostly just crap.
When they actually gave him something decent to work with - "The Clansman", for instance - I like him every bit as much as Bruce.

I just recently picked up As Live As It Gets because I’d heard such good things. Terrible cover artwork aside, I was amazed what a good live album it is!
I’m sorry, but this rumour really needs to die.
I dunno what Tony Visconti’s deal is claiming that the album was 75% recorded in the studio, but you only need to compare it to the bootlegs of the shows from which the songs were lifted (I have) to realise the touch-ups on it are pretty minimal...
Tbh I've always thought the 6-minute-something single edit of "The Angel and the Gambler", which chops out the entire slow section in the middle and ditches half the chorus repeats at the end, turns that track from a dud into a pretty good one.
