I don’t understand how that song made it to no. 1. It’s from a Dutch guy who got a lot of support from radio and television. Personnally, I think it’s a mediocre song.
Iron Maiden arguably did better than Van Halen, who happen to be one of my favourite bands ever. But nobody voted for Megadeth or Pantera, so it’s a mainstream top 2000 anyway.
Hey guys, thanks very much for your help. Unfortunately, my little plan didn’t work. We didn’t get any extra Maiden tracks into the top 2000. Obviously, it takes quite a few votes to enter the top 2000. Maybe next year!
Good suggestion, GhostofCain. Let’s all vote for:
Run to the Hills
Can I Play with Madness
Fear of the Dark
Wasted Years
Revelations
Powerslave
The Number of the Beast
The Trooper
Hallowed be thy Name
if you like, you may add extra tracks, but it’s not necessary for the Top 2000
It's possible to put between 5 and 35 songs in your list. If you say what songs you prefer, we may also put those on the list. Only, if everyone picks a different track, none will end up in the Top 2000. It only works if we all vote for the same songs. Maybe then they will just make it. That's...
It’s perfectly allright if you vote for something else besides Iron Maiden, but please ALSO vote for The Trooper and Hallowed be thy name. Only that way this plan will work. Thank you!
Hey everybody,
please take a few minutes to help me with a plan to get a great Iron Maiden song in the Top 2000 on Dutch radio!
You can vote 5, 6 and 7 December.
I am from the Netherlands, and each year around Christmas, on Dutch NPO radio 2, they play the top 2000.
This list is made up by...
Great track. Fantastic build up. I love it when Bruce screams “He has the power to make it all eeend!!!”
After watching the movie “Dune” with Kyle MacLachlan and Sting, I liked the song even more.
