Personal preferences aside I don't really get why TNOTB is leading in votes currently either. Listener fatigue is my best guess but it doesn't feel right to me for the album with three of the bands biggest hits of all time (RTTH, NOTB, HBTN) and another three popular deep cuts (COTD, Prisoner...
Bruce sounds good in parts of AMOLAD but in other parts (BTATS, Pilgrim) you can hear the strain beginning to set in which carried on into TFF. In TBOS it felt like he changed his singing style in places to accommodate this and I really like the end result. The Man of Sorrows is one of the...
Maiden's best album for me. A big part of that is probably that the tour for this was the first concert (Maiden or otherwise) that I ever attended, so there's nostalgia there, but I still think it holds up today. It also sounds so much better than the previous two albums - Bruce in particular...
When I compare AMOLAD to the other reunion albums it's a similar story - I prefer my favourite songs from each of them to my favourite songs from AMOLAD. It's nothing to do with live play either - I don't listen to live albums that much and a lot of my absolute favourites (Shadows of the Valley...
Every single Bruce 80s album (and every reunion album other than maybe BNW) has at least three songs I like more than my favourite song from AMOLAD. The album doesn't have a big hit for me which is why I don't rate it very highly.
As one of the two people who rated Dance of Death the highest, I'd like to offer an alternative perspective to the one @Mosh has given. Namely, I think that this album rocks. It's criminally underrated, has a fantastic mix of songs, and is (in my opinion) significantly better than the two albums...
I listened to the album in full whilst walking home today so that I could give a more detailed response to this. In short, our appraisals of the album are so different it is like we are listening to entirely different albums.
Basically, there aren't any songs I hate on the album, but there...
This is how I always check it, for simplicity and because I am nowhere near the level where the accuracy would matter.
I started on 35 back in July, but am currently on 41. This has been the case for around a month now - it hasn't increased since because I've dropped volume due to a sore/tight...
I didn't think I'd vote for Slayer in any of these rounds, but then Sepultura happened.
Battle Cry is one of my favourite modern songs from one of my favourite bands. The Grand Magus song is very good though, and I'll be listening to it again.
I like a lot of Nightwish, but not their earlier...
The X Factor is the worst Maiden album, and it's not even remotely close. I can't believe it took us this long to get rid of it.
I'll vote AMOLAD next as it's my least favourite of the ones remaining.
I hadn't heard Limelight before today, but I really enjoyed this one. I like what I've heard of Rush before, but sometimes I find their singer a little much and I found this song suited them a lot more, probably because it didn't feel like it was using the high notes quite as much.
I Believe In...
If these leaks are Phil Spencer's emails, then Kotaku (https://kotaku.com/microsoft-buy-nintendo-net-worth-valve-steam-email-1850852461) quote them as saying that he doesn’t see “an angle to a near term mutually agreeable merger of Nintendo and MS". So in other words, no news except the...
