Moments you thought "Maiden sounding weird here"

The proggy time signature that seems to come out of nowhere for Adrian’s solo in The Time Machine. That really stood out live, in particular.

    Ghost

Mary on a Cross is the better song from that single. I instantly enjoyed it more than Kiss the Go Goat when they were released. Just a shame it’s become TikTokified.

    Nicko McBrain retires

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone within the Maiden hierarchy sat down (Steve/Rod) and had a word with him when it became clear that he wasn’t going to get better as the tour progressed, but allowed him to make his own decision about his future. Probably went something like this.

Moments you thought "Maiden sounding weird here"

Not weird per say, but I've always thought the "We are cast out by our bloody father's hand" section and the use of the whammy during Adrian's solo in Lord of Light were pretty unique for a Maiden track.

    NOW PLAYING

Funeral through to Things Beyond Things is quite possibly my favourite run of songs on any album ever made.

    Ullevi 2005: the overlooked masterpiece?

To be fair, sound quality hasn't been high on their priority list for a good few years now.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

It’s always confused me why Maiden have never opted for a curtain drop at the start of the show. It would have worked really well on the LOTB tour, the spitfire would have had an even bigger impact if it was hidden during the intro tape.

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

As much as I don't want it in the setlist. I think if they were to bring back Aces High, it could still work, it all depends on the place in the set. The problem with 2022, was that it was the LAST song of the set. Which was a fucking ridiculous idea, Bruce struggled, and so did Nicko even...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I could probably do without Wasted Years again to be honest.

Run For Your Lives! Setlist speculation thread

I very much doubt he'd be able to play the intro anymore, sadly.

Iron Maiden backdrops over the years (WARNING: LOTB SETLIST SPOILERS)

The Death of the Celts backdrop is probably the best they've ever had.

Best performances from Future Past Tour?

I seem to remember Barcelona last year was a good performance, especially for the first leg.

    Mission from Arry round 2.

    Nicko McBrain retires

Just posted this in the Replacing Nicko thread by mistake - I wonder if the guys have played with the new drummer already, without us knowing? Surely, they wouldn't hire a new drummer without knowing how well they perform together?

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

I remember when they first announced LOTB, and they mentioned something like 'interconnecting worlds', and there was discussion here about moving stages and set pieces. But at the end of the day, we got the same stage layout with some extra props. I can see them bringing out bigger screens...

I can't wait for the live debut of Piece of Mind.

    Blaze Bayley

I was at the last show in Stoke, the week before his health issues, and it was absolutely incredible. You'll have to tie me down to prevent me from going to next year's gig.
