Songs you want Maiden to cover.

I'd rather not. I enjoy when bands do an interesting take on songs that aren't hard rock/metal... like Van Halen's cover of "You're No Good." Iron Maiden have done some good cover songs ("Doctor Doctor" comes to mind,) but I much prefer them doing originals. I feel that way about most bands...

Plagiarism or similar Rock/Metal CD covers? Kiss, Manowar, Bruce Dickinson,Angra

The saving graces of Virtual XI

I know you're referring to 'Lightning Strikes Twice' here, but that song has the typical Iron Maiden sound, just like the others you mentioned. In that regard, none of those songs are unlike imo.

    Virus on The X Factor

Nope. :P The albums should be left the way they are. 'Virus' was released specifically for the Best Of The Beast album. To me it seems kinda silly for it to be "moved" over to The X Factor. Furthermore... despite being free to purchase or not purchase, I still get tired of seemingly every band...

The hidden lady on the Somewhere Back in Time cover... (Picture included)

People love to read too deep into things. It wouldn't surprise me if the figure was left in there for no other purpose than to get hardcore fans chatting. So that someone would (over)analyze it pondering, "why is this? what's this mean?"

    Iced Earth

If only Bin Laden knew the effects his actions would have on Iced Earth, perhaps ten years ago he would've scrapped the entire plan and just kicked back with a blunt and cranked some IE records instead.

    Possible future Maiden fans?

I had to laugh when some of them broke out on their air guitars. I see the girl with the heart-shaped guitar is a lefty.

Maiden Songs that belong on other albums

No More Lies always sounded to me like it would've fit in well on the Virtual XI album.

The Thin Line Between Love and Hate

Eh, really?... Anyway, I like this song a lot; the intro riff, the vocal harmonies during the verses, the "mystical" sort of melody near the end... I kinda like how they left in the joking/laughing at the very end. It's pretty late now, but I gave it an 8/10

    Coming Home

Re: Daily Song: Coming Home I quite enjoy this one. Dare I say it's possibly one of my favourite tunes on The Final Frontier. Though I don't find it quite as moving as Out Of The Shadows (which to me is a similar song in its structure,) it still has that certain quality about it... something...

    Bruce Dickinson

I just can't really get into Tattoed Millionaire, where as the last three Dickinson albums I absolutely love. I certainly hope he continues along this route musically, and I hope he continues to work with Roy Z if this is the calibre of music being created.

    Kreator

If you like the last two albums (the ones you mentioned), you'd probably enjoy Violent Revolution. Everything the band did up to Coma Of Souls features more aggressive thrash work and not quite as melody induced as the last few records. I have not heard many songs off Endorama, Outcast, or...

    El Dorado

Re: Daily Song: El Dorado I feel kinda the same. The song is just mediocre. I suppose it works well for the band to release one of the less interesting songs as a first single. I dig how the song ends the same way it begins, with the crashing chords and drums/cymbals and everything... pretty...

    Songs (albums) to ignore

Don't need to. I've heard/read the lyrics of that song many a time... still don't care for them. Just remembered another song I dislike very much (though not as much as I hate Judgement Of Heaven). I never liked Holy Smoke really; it tends to get the skip button often whenever I listen to the...

How much longer for Iron Maiden?

There is no "and" Just pointing it out since you mentioned Harris possibly co-writing songs with whetever band he would be working with in this supposed situation.

    Songs (albums) to ignore

Just never liked the song. It's always been almost a complete turn off... the lyrics, the music... just can't stand it. It's a wonder how they could include such a song on The X Factor and yet leave off I Live My Way --a far superior tune imo.

    The Legacy

Re: Daily Song: The Legacy My feelings also. I gave it a 9. The second half of the song (when the tempo picks up) is a little less interesting compared to the absolutely stellar first half, but the song is an amazing piece of music just the same. Definately one of my faves on the album.

    Songs (albums) to ignore

If I think longer on the matter I'm sure I can come up with more, but off the top of my head, the absolute worst offender for me is Judgement Of Heaven. I don't know of any other song on an Iron Maiden album that I truly hate... to the point where I will press the skip button every time.

How much longer for Iron Maiden?

Many groups (Iron Maiden included) tend to write their own songs without help from anyone outside the band.

    Ozzy Vs Dio (Solo Career)

Still I find it odd, since Sabbath had many vocalists though their life span. One might as well throw Tony Martin or Ian Gillan into the mix as well, both of whom have had careers on their own.
