Putting aside fear of the dark album tracks, Gers / Harris is an astonishingly consistent songwriting duo. Some of the best tracks of the last 25 years has come from these two alone. I’d now rate Gers / Harris far higher over Smith / Dickinson, for modern Maiden that is.

Yep, backing from Absolva and Iced Earth-quality musicians is part of the story. Blaze deserves good audiences, a few hundred at least, but he powers through those shows when just dozens show up as well (I have seen a couple of them!).
