    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

The irony is that your signature says you're not here, as though you were planning to make the "cool" exit this morning, spitting us all with a spammy thread, but you just couldn't resist the urge to come back. It almost ruined the fun for everyone, where you could act all cool, and we could...

Steve Harris Confirms Maiden England DVD for 2013

A 90s documentary would be the most interesting, especially if they got Blaze to interview for it. Those are the albums whose creation I would be most interested in learning about. I wouldn't mind if they didn't do the reunion, but there should at least be History of Iron Maiden through the 90s...

    USA Politics

Or through the dozens of anti-Austrian writings that sprung up in opposition. Either one. I agree that they should not quote only the worst extreme, but this does not refute their arguments. Readjustment may have had a part to play in the 1920 depression, but inflation was a primary cause...

    USA Politics

Since you know history, you should be aware of the 1920 crash that I described earlier, and should be able to point out how the distinctions between it and the 1929 crash are not strong circumstantial evidence in support of Austrian theory and against Keynesian theory.

    USA Politics

The Austrian school is a valid economic school that is too often ignored in favor of Keynesianism, which history has shown not to work. Take, for example, the United States' crashes of 1920 and 1929. In 1920, the US government cut it's budget, as Austrian economists recommend, and the young...

Steve Harris Confirms Maiden England DVD for 2013

This is good news. Does anyone think it will include footage from a North American show on this tour, or is that unlikely? Hopefully it will have The History of Iron Maiden Part 3, going up to Adrian's departure. Then when they eventually release Live At Donington on DVD they can have Part 4...

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

I founded my first political party when I was 11, so I guess both you and him are behind the curve. I declare you accepted. Wait, I mean excepted. Or is it accepted? I guess I will declare you eccepted, or maybe even axcepted*. *Actually, "axcepted" sounds pretty badass.

    USA Politics

It may seem like a successful bailout, and it certainly worked to a benefit in the short run, but in the long run, the poorly managed companies are remaining in business. The idea that they are essential industries is the same argument used to bail out banks that are "too big to fail." By...

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

Actually, I'm pretty sure that you can except him, in the sense that you've excepted him from participating on this forum. It means that he thinks that the Republican Party is the party of the constitution ordained by George Washington himself, and somehow this means that a constitutional way...

    USA Politics

The problem with bailouts, from an economic standpoint, is that they don't work in the long run. The nature of the free market is that businesses that know what they're doing succeed, and those who don't fail. When you bail out the losers, no matter what your intentions are, what you're really...

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

I'm sorry, but in order to make your second sentence correct, you technically need to add the word "Do" at the beginning. In addition, George W. Bush was not a good President of the United States. ;)

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

Depending on what you mean by liberal, I wouldn't say the music is that, but it is definitely not backwards. Maiden doesn't express political opinions on many subjects, but they are pretty clearly anti-war and therefore would probably be anti-firing squad. And they're anti-stupid behavior due to...

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

The thing is, some people type with bad grammar because it's easier. There is no possible way it could be easier to capitalize the first letter of every word. So I don't really get that one at all. Heh. Grammar jokes. Edit: The original version of the OP said "They Can't except Someone…"

    FAREWELL MAIDEN FANS

Clearly the solution to people taking exception to your bad grammar is to never speak to those people again. There is no way that the solution could possibly be to, I don't know, improve your grammar.

[Help] What is so special about Iron Maiden in your opinion

I don't want to get too involved, as I think that Adrian and Dave are equally excellent guitarists (Janick is the 3rd best guitarist in the band, but it's pretty close), but I wanted to respond to a couple of points: This is just interesting to me, not really trying to argue about it, but if...

Iron Maiden's worst song (AKA the Head to Head results thread)

Revelations, to me, is one of the finest pieces of art ever created. It's a top 10, maybe even top 5 song for me. The music is slightly repetitive, but it is by no means excessively so, nor does that make it bad. And Bruce's emotional vocals and cryptic lyrics... It's definitely one of my favorites.

Have they really? Can't they even respect a man's family during their time of mourning?

    Steve Harris

Probably Nicko, since he's the oldest member and drums are a taxing instrument. I would guess that it's likely that we'll see a few more albums out of the other members after Nicko puts up the sticks and Maiden retires.

Dance Of Death - the album

I may yet do that at some point, the first step would probably be to see if Slayer is a band that I would like to listen to. I'm not sure if it counts as extreme metal, I think some would say that the extreme end of thrash counts and some wouldn't. Those ones are pretty awful. I didn't...
