LOU REED & METALLICA - Lulu (out on October 31, 2011)

I can't tell if this is a parody or an improvement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRPzElP_eSI

    Concentration Camps In North Korea

Unless China wants to protect North Korea, North Korea is not a threat to anyone.  After all, an army of 10 million is useless if that army is not well equipped or fed - kind of like how Saddam Hussein had the world's 3rd or 4th largest army at one time. But yeah, it really depends on whether...

    Final Frontier: one year later

I hope we don't have to wait 4 years between releases like we did with AMOLAD and TFF.  That would mean the next Maiden album comes out 3 years from now...  :S

    Frank Zappa

I like the Mothers of Invention material the best. Here are my favorite Zappa albums with the Mothers: 'Freak Out' - a very fun album with lots of short, catchy songs that lampoon a lot of 60s musical sounds. 'Absolutely Free' - More of a challenging listen.  Full of absurd, nonsensical lyrics...

    For the next Maiden tour....

I don't remember.  I agree that it's likely untrue and a long shot at best, but it's a really fun "what if" scenario to think about.

    For the next Maiden tour....

Sorry. No sources, all rumors. But fun rumors to pass on, nonetheless.

    For the next Maiden tour....

I heard a rumor that Bruce wants to perform the entire Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album on their next tour, and is trying to convince Steve to go along with it. It's only a rumor... but it would go along well with the promotion of the (also rumored) Maiden England & Early Years Part 3 DVD...

Winnipeg Jets' Goalie Wears "Aces High" Design

Go Oilers go! I'm glad the Jets are back - the road to the Stanley Cup for the Oilers always had to go through Winnipeg.

Sweden says NO to no classics! Ullevi still not even close to sold out

Oh, those songs all rule. No question.  My point is that a lot of those (widely-considered) classic songs still don't have the "sing-along" quality that some of more recent songs have, such as Blood Brothers, Brave New World, These Colors Don't Run, No More Lies, or The Wicker Man.  In other...

The X Factor & Virtual XI

I've never been a fan of Blaze, but I like the X Factor quite a bit.  Some of Maiden's best lyrics are on this album, and I really dig the "dark" mood of the album. I think that Virtual XI has some very good (and criminally overlooked) guitar work and a few catchy bits, but the lyrics are...

Sweden says NO to no classics! Ullevi still not even close to sold out

You know what some classic Maiden songs are hard for a live crowd to participate with? - Revelations - Rime of the Ancient Mariner - The Clairvoyant - Iron Maiden - 22 Acacia Avenue - Children of the Damned - Where Eagles Dare - Infinite Dreams ...among others

Bruce Dickinson vs. Blaze Bayley (Solo careers)

Bruce by a long shot. Not taking anything away from Blaze, but as far as professional singers in the metal world go, I think he is quite average.

Lady Gaga: 'IRON MAIDEN Changed My Life'

You gotta admit though, Bruce would be great on that show.

    Virus on The X Factor

I don't care much for the longer, slower version of the song, but I think the short version of Virus kicks all kinds of ass.  :edmetal:

Lady Gaga: 'IRON MAIDEN Changed My Life'

Actually, to be honest I have never heard a Lady Gaga song before.  I like to see Maiden in the mainstream press.

The saving graces of Virtual XI

I like to joke around and say the 90s never happened, etc.  But in all seriousness I like all of Maiden's albums... it's just that the 80s output is absolutely stellar, the 2000s are arguably as great (possibly better?), and the 90s albums, while very good (and sometimes great), are not "Maiden...

The saving graces of Virtual XI

I am saying that the 90s were the worst decade to be a Maiden fan. And the only way I can look back on the 90s with any bit of happiness is to imagine that the X Factor and Virtual XI are Steve Harris solo projects... ...I am only half kidding.

Lady Gaga: 'IRON MAIDEN Changed My Life'

Well, now I have to throw out all my Iron Maiden albums.

    Osama bin Laden Killed

The difeence is that nobody liked Hussein's insane kids. But some people liked Bin Laden. And nothing satisfies conspiracy nuts. Any officially-released photos would be quickly disregarded as "fakes" by the tin foil hat brigade anyway.

    Official Hockey discussion thread

The Sharks are still the undisputed champs of choking. I have a feeling the cup will go to one of the two Eastern teams (likely the Bruins).
