The timing actually seems pretty good to me since they really need to sell tickets to resident fans, not travelling fans. The kinds of rock fans and lapsed Maiden fans, or Maiden fans who haven't bought tickets yet, who just need a kick up the arse to go ahead and get a ticket to shows in or...
Little noticed, Metallica just put out a new documentary called 'Metallica Saved My Life': https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30319505/ I know one of the fans featured in it. It doesn't seem to have made a wider splash and I haven't watched it myself, but she attended a premier with Metallica last...
Here are the territories Maiden are visiting on RFYL:
Canada
USA
UK
EU
El Salvador
Costa Rica
Colombia
Ecuador
Peru
Argentina
Brazil
Chile
Japan
Australia
New Zealand
It is a great run and ticket demand will be sated in these places.
But everywhere in Asia except Japan isn't covered, and...

3 Aus stadium shows with Megadeth could do very well.
But I really hope there are some Asian country dates too.
I attended 4 Aus shows on Future Past and saw a good amount of teenagers / 20s fans (support was Killswitch Engage, who I like a lot and probably helped with younger millennials and...
Very well explained, I also feel Maiden has slightly lost the knack for writing standout shorter songs over the second half of their recording career. The shorter songs need that killer main riff and chorus, I agree (like 'Don't Believe a Word' by Thin Lizzy or 'Rainmaker' for that matter). Its...
It is credible at least: Megadeth have dates until September only... Mustaine says he wants to tour till he basically can't play live anymore. I'd love to see Megadeth support Maiden again; only other time was 1999 on Ed Hunter that I saw them support Maiden.
They went for a commercial hard rock bill with Airbourne and Darkness. What you listed are several actual metal bands, traditional and modern, and that’s what missing from the bill …
Megadeth with Maiden in Australia for late 2026 (as per the rumour above) would seal that deal for me, for example.
I agree, it seems to have been developed as they went rather than from inception. Three simple changes would have increased appeal:
-- Announcing the show as an 'Eddfest' right at the start
-- Making one or two set list changes and announcing this at the outset
-- Adding just one band with...
You are right nothing seems off. It’s just mightily annoying because I want to plan my holidays or decide which Europe dates to attend instead if not!!
It is annoying. Surely the rest of RFYL must be booked but not announced, the last dates are just 8 months away now.
Only thing I can think of is a possible coordinated announcement with the documentary? And waiting for the Priest documentary first? Who knows, it is just speculation but the...
I agree with you about the shows. But it's the difference between Steve's 'carry on regardless' attitude, whereby the enforced change of Nicko's retirement is a hurdle to overcome to just keep going.
Versus any kind of introspection around what Nicko's departure means. What it means for how...
My fear is that British Lion / Mandrake lineup Bruce solo are viable distractions from having THE TALK for the principal players. I also fear that the emotional impact of Nickos retirement on the wider unit has been skipped over.
The RFYL 2026 is longer than Future Past 2024. It is much longer than Future Past 2023. It is the longest run of Maiden dates since Legacy 2022. Through no fault of his own, Nicko's health was limiting their touring I guess.
Steve, Bruce and even Adrian seem energetic enough for more musical...
5 years and 364 days elapsed between the release day of Book of Souls and of Senjustsu.
So far, we are a mere 4 years and 5 months since Senjustsu release day... -_-
I also look out for exactly this (and also where blaze albums end up in generic album rankings) - it says a lot!
I felt the same about his earlier book.
Thanks very much for the detailed review, appreciate it, you have saved me some ££££ here! I think I'll give it a miss at full price but...
The average age in Maiden when they played India in 2008 was barely 50, 51. It was only three years later they were in Jakarta. From that point on, they then never gave these markets any attention at all, not even occasionally. My comment was more about why reunion era Maiden didn't bother with...
