  1. The Red and the Black

Has Bruce ever sang TNOTB like the album?

I hope this song never gets played live again. It's a good, classic song, but it's so overplayed. Don't need to hear it again. So many other songs that deserve to be played.

If Maiden get inducted to the RnR HoF...

They should play Empire of the Clouds. That would be a good FU to the fake “hall of fame”.
  3. The Red and the Black

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I don't get the obsession with Only the God Die Young. It's a good song, but there are so many better Maiden songs deserving to be played. I hope for To Tame a Land.

    Bruce Dickinson

No, thanks. We got Accident of Birth instead. Skunkworks is aptly named. It stinks!
  6. The Red and the Black

What are your top five favorite live song recordings by Maiden?

I agree. There is an energy and urgency in this version of the song that is unmatched by any other version.
  7. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

Well, since no one knows or cares who "needledrop" is..
  8. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

2 Minutes to Midnight and Can I Play with Madness were great videos, mini-movies.
  9. The Red and the Black

    The Future Past Tour 2024

No. And even if they never tour again or release another album, the money will continue to pour in via merchandise sales until eternity fails. I'm hoping most of all for another album and new music tour. But if we never get anything new from Maiden again, that's not a tragedy. They've given...

    Blaze vocal performance

Blaze couldn't stay in tune live even on his own Maiden songs, never mind Bruce's. I'm glad Maiden picked him, though, because if they had picked someone better, they wouldn't have failed so badly, and Bruce and Adrian wouldn't have returned. So God bless Blaze.
  11. The Red and the Black

    Paul Di'Anno

I think the only reason to see Paul now is out of kindness so he can get a payday.
  12. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

That’s actually Best Rush album, or maybe tied with Grace Under Pressure. Told a great story. Well done, Neal. Can Bruce’s story match it? Personally all that dark occult stuff that Bruce likes to explore is kind of boring to me. But we’ll see.
  13. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

I hope Bruce opens his concert with the new/reworked version of If Eternity Should Fail, complete with the smoking cauldron during the intro. That was an incredibly bad-ass opening during the Book of Souls tour.
  14. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

I look forward to the album, but I have zero interest in the comic books. But I'm glad Bruce gets to do new creative things, and I'm sure some people will enjoy it.
  15. The Red and the Black

    The Future Past Tour 2024

And written by Bruce. Take that, Steve! Stick your Rime where it don’t shine!
  16. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

Obviously the keyboardist will take the role of "second guitarist" in this band. We will get new arrangements of the AoB and TCW songs accordingly. Will they work well? I'll give Bruce and Roy the benefit of the doubt for now.
  17. The Red and the Black

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I’m not going to weigh in on the The Parchment debate, as I don’t have strong feelings about the song one way or the other. But I wanted to second what you said about Weekend Warrior. That song rocks!
  18. The Red and the Black

    The Future Past Tour 2024

I remember being young and going to the record store, and every month there was something new and great by bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, Styx, and the list goes on and on. We were spoiled and thought that was normal and would never end. It ended.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

The “anniversary releases” (and special editions, remasters, etc.) are just money grabs, exploiting fans’ loyalty. All that matters is the music, which is already there and we already have. There is no reason to constantly re-release the same music except to grub more and more money. It’s...
  20. The Red and the Black

    Bruce Dickinson

But Adrian did co-write the best track on The Chemical Wedding - Machine Men.
