Agreed. Given the realms they used for the tour theme, I think NOTD could have been very interesting. Something like - Eddie from the tour (the big one, Trooper, or just the classic one with a costume) wandering/entering 3 worlds, all shown a little in the art in a dungeon probably. Now that...
24 The Number of the Beast +2
18 The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg +1
12 Virtual XI + 3
4 Live at the Rainbow
2 Virus [alt. 2]
0 Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast: Live in Mexico City
Easy round to vote.
VXI is an underrated cover and Eddie (appreciate the colors and the details)...
Finally a Janick signature. :) The choice of the guitars is curious - Steve's first bass, Dave's classic Strat from LAD, Janick's main guitar and Adrian's Jackson from ME (white headstock?). Pure 80's, RFYL tour. Plus Dave's new white Strat!
I enjoy the Hansen & Friends album very much - but it seems like (at least from the snippets so far) this new solo project with his son will be more power metal than it, which from Kai I could listen to forever and I'm happy about. He shared another snippet, a song his son wrote called ''Triple...
The Christmas Eddie looks really good, quite old school design and face, the colors work great. By Akirant? Will they release a card too? No hints for the future sadly, as 2027 is a break, while next year is the same tour.
Faithkeepers? So only a celebration of DOTF? After the one for Painkiller, their next big classic. Just for 1 year? We'll see, they can release a new album in the next couple of years. Nice colors for the poster (btw, the wings on it could be for SWOD). Richie will finally play Rock Hard Ride...
Who knows, maybe it's true. Not Bruce though.
^If not new album, then me too.
This.
Not that I disagree with all, but like with any old band, right. Every single word you said. So I think it's fair of us to expect new music from a band like Maiden.
Yes. I just hope they realize how much each...
So it's clear they're looking forward and to tour, good to hear it from Rod too. Steve is just amazing. But it's kind of hard to imagine a band like Maiden to continue touring just the classics (less and big shows) with no new music, even with Simon now. How many interesting tour themes/concepts...
The new FC mag.
RFYL tour is called ''tour of the century'' and emotional. I don't think they've ever said anything like that about a tour, I guess the latter for the previous tour. Some words from Steve, Simon(!) and Rod and (the traditional?) Q&A with Nicko. Let's hope for some interesting...
Agreed, although the original is more interesting. As Rod and Steve have said in old interviews, they just didn't think enough about a cover theme for the album. Run Silent Run Deep would have probably made the best Eddie. The missing water theme for an album cover.
Yeah, Rainmaker could have been effective with an actual drawing of this photo from the video. Blue and dark color, showing more of Eddie with the dancing figure/s. The Eddie head in the sky from the end of the video could have been added too, like in theme.
Given the song's theme, I doubt they...
Is this the Part 2 of the Metal Hammer interview? I thought it would about all solo albums. The curious bits:
Bruce said he felt creatively lost when left Maiden, he needed to leave to understand if he could give more to the music world. You don't get that in Maiden, it's gotta shape in a...
Weak and easy Round. They won't have a chance in the next rounds.
10 No Prayer for the Dying [remaster] +3
10 "Stratego" +2
8 "Be Quick or Be Dead" +1
2 "Speed of Light"
0 "Wildest Dreams" [DVD]
0 "Rainmaker" [DVD]
NPFTD is a weak and boring cover for Maiden, but Eddie is still good and at...
I listened to Pass The Jam for the first time in a while - and I think they could have easily used the verses approach for a an album song. I like their rhythm. The whole song has good parts: verses, Janick's solo, drumming, guitar licks, the melodic riff (5:54). Some of Bruce's vocals are nice...
It's time to share my rankings of the year. Solid metal year for the bands I like.
Album Of The Year: Helloween - Giants & Monsters. Some of the songs could have been better, but overall it's the strongest and varied.
Other highlights:
Battle Beast - Steelbound
Bloodbound - Field Of Swords...
Pure 80's catchy glam, I really dig both songs.
I remember liking their album cover and the song ''Solar Winds''. I should listen to Part 1 some day. Old school and Maiden-esque melodic.
I always prefer Eddie to be a central figure, but not gonna lie, it's underrated. Good for both main and back covers. It's without CGI, right?
Same here.
Ahh, so close. OOTSP would have been stronger in the next rounds.
Easy round.
13 Powerslave +3
9 The Clairvoyant +1
9 A Matter of Life and Death +2

0 Behind the Iron Curtain

Powerslave is timeless and one of the best covers of all time! It can win the whole...
Yeah, songs like Icarus, Still Life, Infinite Dreams, Seventh Son, Stranger In A Strange Land, Long Distance Runner, No Prayer, Wasting Love, Be Quick... played earlier. I'm not mentioning other SIT songs because he did them great during TFP tour.
