I also gave some casual quick-run listens through Dystopia, Jomsviking and The Last Stand and all of them are the same thing: a decent album by a band that has already peaked and is just repeating themselves to get to the next tour. Of the three, Last Stand has the most standout tracks, but none...
Continuing to listen...
Anthrax - For All Kings
I've been very, very loud with my critique of Joey Belladonna and Anthrax as a whole. That said, this album is really, really good. Not even Belladonna can stop it from being great. The last three songs are a bit of a letdown (especially Thieves...
Albums I’ve sampled over the past day:
Borknagar - Winter Thrice
Brilliant music. Amazing atmosphere. Clean vocals are pretty good. Harsh vocals are too black metal for me. There’s a lot to dig into here and I might give this a vote.
And all of the following which are very much not for me...
I'm gonna need to listen to every album this year that I haven't heard because, wow, this is a super uninspiring year of releases for me.
Shockingly, For All Kings (no "the" BTW) might be the best album released by the Big Three this year. And I really, really don't like Joey Belladonna...
Lots of votes for this round!
I voted for Book of Souls, but probably won't continue to. It's definitely my third favorite reunion album, though.
Under The Red Cloud is one of Amorphis' best works. A great album!
Everyone not voting for Visigoth has not heard The Revenant King. Listen to...
I think if Blaze promoted a set with a mix of Iron Maiden songs he'd do just fine at smaller venues in North America.
Not necessarily The X Factor in full, as I think that would hurt ticket sales, but I'd certainly go if I knew he was playing more Maiden tunes in the set. Especially Clansman...
I’ll also drop my Haken rankings here since we’re talking about it. For reference, I just started listening to them this year.
1. Virus
2. Fauna
3/4. Visions or Aquarius
5. The Mountain
6. Affinity
7. Vector
It’s not a good and it has nothing to say. Rightfully placed last.
It definitely seems pretty selective. I'm not seeing this kind of nonsense for Chicago, and I had no issues buying tickets, but other markets are seeing these bizarre price inflations.
I actually just walked right into the Trooper pre-party at the Future Past tour stop in Chicago last year. I was looking for a pint of Trooper and a bathroom. Found both, ate some appetizers, and walked out. No one checked anything.
Got pit tickets for Chicago. There were only 68 people ahead of me in the queue, but I made sure to join the waiting room exactly when it opened.
Overall, inflation has hit Maiden, but I'm glad that there are no outrageous ticket costs for Chicago barring front rows and VIP packages. Other than...
