    18th Studio Album discussion

Did they ever release a live album or video between two legs of one and the same tour? A live release from a tour yet not completed doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

    The Soundhouse Tapes

Especially the moronic cymbal in the beginning... It comes as ridiculous as if in the slow part of Charlotte The Harlot in expectance of Paul's vocal line surprisingly a tuba approached instead.

    The Soundhouse Tapes

And it's definitely not Steve singing. If you want to hear Steve singing Prowler, go for the Wakefield version 1980 on YT. So his singing voice is yet well documented already. it was him singing because Paul was late for the gig or something like that.

    The X Factor Vs. Senjutsu

Not a fan of both of them, but I have to vote for Senjutsu. My problem with TXF is: Even if it had the nicest melodies, and even if it had the greatest songwriting plus best guitar solos of all Maiden albums - it is simply unlistenable because of the voice. Blaze might be the friendliest guy on...

Days Of Future Past vs. The Time Machine

One of the outstanding things about Days Of Future Past for me is this one lyric line "waiting for the judgement but the judgement never ends". Brilliant. What only one word can do, in this case "but". Seems to bring both parts of the sentence in a contradiction while they are dialectically...

Days Of Future Past vs. The Time Machine

Revisiting the Senjutsu album, I have to admit I start to enjoy it the one or other way. Never thought this was gonna happen. The two songs from the mid-album, DOFP and TTM, in particular. Both great tracks. Which of them both do you like better?

    Cathedral

Very interesting, thank you so much. So I get it right: Ethereal Mirror is the best album according to your ranking? I will try to get a hold of all the stuff you listed by YT captures. And yep, I do play guitar (and bass). Well, the Forest Of Equilibrium vinyl LP I have... I suppose my copy...

now that's quite a bit romantic.

    18th Studio Album discussion

Absolutely THIS. They are no amateur school band and don't let the press start the promotion before they themselves have a promotional concept. That btw is also the reason I'm quite sure they had the deal with hiring Simon fixed way earlier in 2024 than December 10, when the press announcement...

    18th Studio Album discussion

ASSUMED they knew in early 2024 already to have Nicko exchanged with Simon, then yes. If Simon was hired short termed, then no. But I think the first scenario is the likely one. So the answer on your question: yes IMHO.

    Cathedral

Yeah, super great. What would be a good album of them that kinda represents them best? An advice? I bought the debut in the early 1990s on vinyl, still have it.

    Cathedral

Mmhh, difficult to describe. Perhaps it's this "acid party vibe" along with the groovy 70's style while still metal. Perhaps the "disco" elements? More than that they are dressed like Hippies. Then... A slightly aggressive, grumpy singer in a white suit, dancing... Plus the fact that...

    Cathedral

Anybody else here who likes Cathedral (Coventry/UK)? Actually I heard of them for the first time around 1992 when they were doom metal orientated, then forgot them for years - but now revisited some of their stuff and I must say I really like them. Liked them in 1992 already, but their later...

Your favourite song from each Maiden live album

Here's my list. What about yours? (It was hard to pick anything from Nights Of The Dead for me, since the whole album is a problematic one) Beast Over Hammersmith Hallowed Be Thy Name Live After Death Aces High Maiden England Still Life Live At Donington Wasting Love A Real Live/Dead One...

So much for Nicko remaining a member of the band

I don't compare their drum qualities. I just like Simon better. He brings some innovations to stage, plus he seems a nice and friendly dude. When I met the entire band in 2005 and had a chance to speak them, they were all super cool except for Nicko, who was weird and rather unfriendly...

So much for Nicko remaining a member of the band

Now that I saw two Maiden shows with SImon on drums, I must say I don't miss Nicko THAT much. Unpopular statement, I know, but the truth for me. Was never much of a Nicko fan anyway, and I prefer Simon all the way.

Alright, so if you want to have it then, let me know by end of August and we'll fix it, if not, no problem too, then I'll return it to their warehouse to be refunded.

Rank all 13 Event Shirts 2025 Europe best to worst – (all images revisited inside)

All the event shirts this year were on pre-order. They were offered on the official Maiden store website after the last show in each country for 48 hours, and on a bottom note the release date was given, which in case of the France shirt is August 27.

I don't think it's that hard. I have approximately 70 official Maiden shirts in my wardrobe, and all summer I wear nothng else. Day by day. I even go to work wearing my Maiden shirts.
