Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

It's cool that Steve is kind of pushing for playing more rare/different songs, how serious though. We missed Only The Good Die Young, Infinite Dreams and Parchment... I can understand Bruce for songs like Runner, Aces(!), Land, etc... Only The Good Die Young sounds like a very good live song...

    Helloween & Gamma Ray

Maybe just for one show, but that's not a cool change.

White Spirit - Cheetah It's clear from these songs that Janick has talent. This fast Purple-esque rocker is cool (with a Maiden song lick), Janick's solo is one of his best (very Blackmore).

I don't think SJ was received badly, the opposite. Maiden don't care about criticism (I think most of the fans want more and more new music), an artist should do what they like. What's the point? An artist's desire to express himself again, which he has with BL too. Steve is the boss, yes, but...

Have I ever told you about my time machine?

''The Time Machine'' is a pure Janick song, and yet still has some not common parts, which I appreciate. I like it, it's good and very enjoyable. Good live song too. I would call it underrated. I find the lyrics oddly curious with their different approach, it fits the album. Every songwriting...

Maidenfans Best Albums of the Millennium: 2015

Clear winners here for me: The Book Of Souls - one of Maiden's albums with a good balance (definitely from the Reunion era) and it's very strong. Some songs are masterpieces! No fillers as such too. The songwriting is better than for the previous album for the most part. Easily the best album...

Yep, but they could do an album tour 1 year with next year's schedule, right? I like to think they still want to do it in secret and that Steve is a little hesitant because of Nicko's importance to the band. Early 2027 or 2028 is our best chance for recording. ^I would like to think the same-...

    Judas Priest

Songs from 11 different albums (a good number for such an anniv tour, if you don't play songs from every album and out of 17), not much more than 8, but so diverse with 9-10 deep cuts.

Ronnie Romero - Eternally This song is co-written by Roy Z. It's not bad, but something is missing, the exciting factor. The riff is kind of similar to a TMP one, the song isn't riff-y. Idk if he plays the solo on the record, but it sounds like his style (it's not that shorter, hey!).

What is new Alexander the Great?

Come close to Alexander: from the ones not played live: Only The Good Die Young Deja-Vu Judas Be My Guide The Thin Line Between Love And Hate Face In The Sand (maybe) Starblind (maybe) Empire Of The Clouds (I guess so) The Parchment - IMO. from the ones rarely played live: Infinite Dreams To...

Wings Of Steel, a quality new band. Classic metal that delivers with ideas, vocals, playing and parts. I like such releases, nothing is missing. The cover is interesting and impactful.

    Best New Music 2025 Edition

Wings Of Steel - Winds Of Time Second album from them, solid classic metal (8 songs!). Good production, vocalist and playing. A must for old school metal fans. I like how there are songs with lengths: 10, two 6, 8, two 5 minutes. Best songs: the title track, ''We Rise'', ''Burning Sands''...

    Nicko McBrain

This is also curious: ''So, we used to have to change the drum fills on various songs over the last two tours, the 'Legacy Of The Beast' tour part two, and then 'Future Past'. But going forward, there were songs on this new set that I knew I would have difficulty playing, and we wouldn't wanna...

    18th Studio Album discussion

He said there are no plans for a new album yet (maybe after next year's tour they'll start thinking about it), but I like how he added that this could change. Him being not sure if he'll be asked to play on a couple of songs is kind of odd, considering they said he's still part of the band...

Besides SIT walk-on Eddie, the Trooper one is also a favorite of Steve. Adrian has had mixed feelings about the walk-ons over the years. Bruce's favorite covers are Powerslave and Seventh Son. Derek was inspired by a 70s comic book for TNOTB. Btw, the recent new Metal Hammer interview with...

Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

So just 10 NA dates (strong and popular openers, they will help, Steve loves them; why not for Knebworth?), shorter than usual/the 2022 similar tour, and the European dates - odd. Like the 2006 tour. Should we expect more dates like probably for Europe? October is for SA (no Rock In Rio?). And...

Kiss - Burning Up With Fever From DTK sessions. Classic (fun) 70s Kiss, it could have been an album song (unlike the other 1975 demo ''Mistake'', although it fits their early style more or less). Guitar playing is a highlight.
