It’s “furious,” but it sounds like “serious,” which is much funnier, so I just roll with it. This is the lyric, along with the aforementioned “hit the switch, you sonnuva biatch,” that led me to realize Symphony X went from making music for themselves to making music for stereotypical angsty...

Lol. I mean Symphony X have never been lyrical masters (although Thomas Miller’s contributions were solid), but a lot of Iconoclast’s lyrics sound like they were written by a 3rd grader. We are strong! We will stand and fight! Watch me burn! Live and learn! Incantations is one of those tunes...

I’d say both Underworld and Paradise Lost are more consistent than The Odyssey at least* (both albums are pretty much all killer no filler), but The Odyssey peaks far higher. Paradise Lost is great, but the overly simplified sound irked me (I can only recall one classic Symphony X polyrhythm on...

Couldn’t agree more. Title track is one of the best songs of all time. Possibly. Both albums have quite a few filler moments. I actually think Blind Faith is just as strong, and I’m also partial to The Great Debate. But yes, the rest of the album is painfully average to my ears, which is...

    SSOASS Vs. AMOLAD

It’s always been difficult for me to pick favorites with some bands - Maiden being one of them. But honestly I think they might be my top two as well.

Spot on. Three of my top Tool tunes are The Grudge, Parabola, and the title track, while Schism and The Patient are nearly perfect in my book. I even like Ticks & Leeches as an anti-screamer guy (that chorus is excellent). I can understand the dislike for Tool’s earlier more immature sound, but...

    SSOASS Vs. AMOLAD

I’d argue that Brave New World is just as consistent, but every other album has at least one dud in my book.

The music is solid fun metal, but I can’t take the vocals, bro. Lateralus and the albums Tool has done since are not “bro prog,” brah. I’d call a lot of the pre-Lateralus stuff (like the track Ænema) bro prog, but the only pre-Lateralus song that I really like (46 & 2) is not bro prog, let...

I’d love to see the Jays win the AL East. Anyone but the Yanks or Red Sox, honestly. I like the Rays, too. How about Schwarbs? Getting rid of him was one of the Cubs’ biggest mistakes ever.

Just listened to Toxicity in full for the first time ever. Wow, it is exactly what I thought it would be. Incredible Songs: N/A Great Songs: N/A Bad Songs: Prison Song, Needles, Deer Dance, Jet Pilot, X, Chop Suey!, Bounce, Forest, ATWA, Science, Shimmy, Toxicity, Psycho, Aerials, Arto I’ll...

@bearfan Agreed on everything. I’d like to see Eugenio Suárez at the hot corner but I’m not sure that Arizona will be selling. I’m a big fan of Shaw’s defense but he needs a trip down to AAA to work on his hitting. As for pitching, I’m hoping they don’t sell the farm to get a mediocre...

Blackwater Park and Lateralus deserve to be atop this list. Karma and Horror Show are good, but they can’t touch these two.

Who’s watching the ASG? I’ve never really cared about the home run derby in general, but especially since that year that Harper cheated his way past former Cub great (and current Harper teammate) Schwarber, but I’m happy Raleigh won. Dude is impressive. I’m happy my boy PCA made the ASG, and...

    SSOASS Vs. AMOLAD

AMOLAD is all killer no filler (ok, mostly killer, but definitely no filler). SSOASS is great, but Prophecy is weak and I’ve always thought CIPWM is too happy. They’re both among Maiden’s best, though. Obviously.

Lol, there’s so many obnoxious demons in that game, with carcasses probably being at the top of the list (saying nothing of the damn arch viles). That first DLC has some outstanding level design, though. The feel of each level is so unique. Best of luck. You have far more patience than I do!

Got the System Shock 2 remaster and am quite excited to dive into it this weekend. Played the remake of the original last year and loved it. @JudasMyGuide Doom Eternal’s DLC is hard, even on the easiest difficulty level. Having to kill those booster demons with the plasma rifle’s microwave...
