I think the lyrics change in old stuff like TETMD is intentional.
But Hell On Earth just can't be intentional, because he kept changing it from night to night. It wouldn't make any sense if it was intentional. It's just him forgetting, which is a shame, because the lyrics on HoE are amazing...
I just came back from São Paulo and yes, the show was actually mindblowing.
In my opinion, the highlights were:
1) Darkside of Aquarius;
2) Book of Thel;
3) Many Doors To Hell;
4) Afterglow of Ragnarok (!).
Look, I know many people here got very high expectations about TMP and then when it...
Do you guys remember what other songs they played during rehearsals? Because if they are still rotating the setlist, then there's a chance they will play some of them.
The brazilian fanpage "imbnoticias" on instagram says ByZegut, a famous french journalist, is claiming on his facebook that Maiden will play on La Dèfense Arena, Paris, june 2025.
I just checked his facebook and there it is.
Bruce sounds amazing and the band sounds tight, considering it's the first show of the tour. I think the tour will be great. I can't wait for São Paulo show.
I agree. I wish they would open with something unexpected. I think Run To The Hills would be a good opener, wouldn't it? A bit weird, but because it's a sing along song, I honestly think it would work great and set a good mood. I know it's an overplayed song and all, but I'd really like to see...
I often get a bit emotional at the end of this song, especially when the last melodic riff kicks in, as I fear, more and more, that this song might have ended Maiden's studio career. I hope not, but if did end this way, then what an end it was!
I think we share pretty much the same opinion about Bruce's voice. Let me take 2 examples from Powerslave: 2 minutes to midnight and ROTAM. I can't even remember last time I listened to the studio versions, because the live ones after 2000s with a more mature voice are SO much better.
Yes...
I became a fan in 2009. And actually, the thing that prevented me from being a fan earlier than that was Bruce's voice. Especially because before 2009 all the stuff I saw from Maiden was their early stuff, mainly The Number of the Beast / Piece of Mind / Powerslave. To this day, I still don't...
Funny how some opinions can be so different.
I also noticed the verses are kinda 'different' and a bit weird, but I like them and I think they were intended to be this way. The part "We're ecstasy on respirators / Breathing cosmic incubators" did make it obvious for me that it was all intended.
It was always very clear for me that it's 100% Bruce's fault. Too stubborn to admit that he simply doesn't sound good anymore at high register.
TWOTW and DOFP are good examples. Both are his songs and on both of them he never sounded good live, with one two nights that could be counted as...
Good album. It's nowhere close to TCW and AoB, but it has the potential to reach #3 for me, surpassing Tyranny of Souls. It is not there yet, but it has the potential.
Shadow of the Gods really is amazing.
Many Doors to Hell very good.
Mistress of Mercy and Resurrection Men are good surprises...
