I picked up Chemical Wedding a few days before The Final Frontier came out, so I've been listening to that in breaks between TFF. Both are awesome metal albums, i'm really liking Bruce's solo stuff. Same iconic voice, but musically there's stuff you just don't get much of with Maiden.
1. Coming Home
2. When the Wild Wind Blows
3. Mother of Mercy
4. El Dorado
5. Satellite 15...The Final Frontier
6. Isle of Avalon
7. The Talisman
8. The Alchemist
9. The Man Who Would Be King
10. Starblind
Only listened to each of them two or three times though, i'm sure it will change...
I really hope they return to NA in 2011 to play some songs off of the new album. I'm an Ottawa boy, they played here this summer for the first time in 19 years and it was, according to the online diaries, one of the best crowd's they had had so far on the tour. I certainly don't want to wait two...
That is exactly what I am doing  I have no problem buying a Maiden album twice!
T-minus about 15 minutes until it's ready, I can't wait :rocker:
The Deluxe version on iTunes doesn't go up until tomorrow, but the standard edition is already for sale :S weird.
It's so tempting to cancel my deluxe pre order and get it a day early....
This is a great point, one that I've been thinking about too. I have no problem seeing a show that only has 5-6 so-called "classics", but it'd be nice to see them spread out throughout the show. If the classics are always played at the end, then people will always thinks of the classics as 80's...
I'm not really sure what counts as underrated, but I've always really liked Face in the Sand, The Clansman, Futureal and Tailgunner. Still Life might be my all time favorite Maiden song, I think it's greatly under appreciated.
Agreed! Most reviews seem to say that Coming Home will be spectacular live, hopefully Maiden adds it to their next tour once the album is out (where i'm sure we'll get a healthy dose of TFF).
Re: OFFICIAL tour thread. SPOILERS inside! ENTIRE Winnipeg show in 720p in bootlegs!
Bit of a review of the Ottawa show:
Overall it was an amazing show, best concert I've ever been too. Maiden hadn't come to Ottawa in 18 years, I really hope we don't have to wait that long again. Their...
Nice! I'm in pretty much the exact same boat, first Maiden show tonight and I can't wait; UP THE IRONS!
And this thread is win. Clearly the Queen is a Maiden fan.
I'm in a similar position. I'm the biggest Maiden fan among my friends, but the others do like the band. I would say take the seats with your friends. It'd be great to be up front, but you'd miss throwing fists up with your friends, singing along, stuff like that. Hell, they'll probably have...
I think The Man Who Would be King will definitely have a Bruce credit. To my knowledge he wrote Revelations, and I just have this feeling that there's a connection of themes between them, after hearing this verse at the end of Revelations:
"The time has come to close your eyes
And still the...
Re: Official thread for Final Frontier/El Dorado single-original post updated Jun.16
I was watching a video of El Dorado live from this tour (the June 16th show in Albuquerque), and Bruce said the following that I found interesting: (not sure if this is considered spoilers, it doesn't give away...
Re: OFFICIAL tour thread. SPOILERS of ALL kinds await you inside!
I'm on Firefox on my Mac, and the spoiler tags work perfectly fine.
And that live footage of the dropped song is awesome, makes me wish so badly it was still being played :edmetal:
Re: OFFICIAL tour thread. SPOILERS of ALL kinds await you inside!
I'm sure it is just speculation at this point, but is the issue of time constraints just something relating to a specific city that has laws about that, or do you think the first set list was simply too long for them to play on...
