Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

If we have a look at their entire discography we can see that quite early in their career they started writing long songs and that the 3-4 minute standard song was quickly abandoned. Well at least until NPFTD and FOTD to some extent where they tried to go back to 4 minute songs and well we all...

    Short-answer questions

Well, it might be the same as for the Loneliness being played in Belgrade...we all know about it thanks to the existing bootleg. Not sure a lot of people witnessed it live back then and are around in these forums to speak about it (at least as far as I can remember, I don't remember a member of...

    Short-answer questions

Actually there is no evidence that it hasn't been played. In some interviews, Adrian mentionned the fact that they played 6 songs out of 8 at the beginning of the tour. So probably, as they used to do during those days (specially the World Slavery Tour and Somewhere on Tour) maybe they've played...

    Short-answer questions

Listening to a recording done in Philadelphia in 1982 and he was already using the "Scream for me" before Iron Maiden. At the beginning of the tour, he used to introduce it with a "..it's a song about a medieval instrument of torture..." so he probably started using it somewhere during the tour...

POLL - The Big Question. Will They Finally Play It?

In the 80's, Maiden has always played the epic song of each album minus this one, the reason? They never gave a trustworthy one, just some "lame" excuses but never got deep into that. As of today, Maiden never ever had played a song that wasn't included in the album tour. Maiden is not the...

THE FUTURE PAST TOUR - The Setlist Contest! WINNERS: blackie2380, MrKnickerbocker & Collin

I'm trying to be realistic here but can't help myself..AtG as the 1st song for the encore would be amazing (just imagine the spoken intro with all the stage still in the dark...am I dreaming too loud??) 1. Days of Future Past 2. Sea of Madness 3. The writing on the wall 4. Heaven can wait 5...

    The Future Past tour 2023

On one hand I'm pretty excited about this announcement and already dreaming of the songs I'd like to hear live. If my dreams were to come true, CSIT, Stranger in a strange land and Alexander the great would be my obvious choices along with the classic Wasted Years and HCW. Now on the other...

TNOTB/BOH triple vinyl: Will you buy it or not?

I really don't understand what might be going in Maiden's (or their management or both) minds...I mean you just have to have a quick look around and when a band is about to celebrate a birthday of one of their most well-known albums they always do something special, some go for the big big thing...

Rate all their studio album cover artworks worst to best

The Final Frontier - Is it really Eddie or some kind of Predator rip-off??? A matter of life and death - The cover isn't that bad but..where's Eddie???? Dance of death - The Eddie is quite good but...we all know what is the problem here The X Factor - A real life Eddie...hmmmh not the greatest...

Killers: individual album judgement by yours truly

Since I've mentionned this album as one if not the weakest in their catalogue, why not some explanation about it. I don't consider Killers as a bad album, it's just that compared to Maiden standards and specially compared to their first, this one is just way too generic. Where the first album...

Maiden studio album shoot-out, Part 17

As much as I love Brave New World I have to go with Powerslave...Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Aces High and the title track are in my top 10 so "sorry" BNW..

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I agree with you on Wrathchild (I'm of those who never gets tired by this song when played live) and I'll add Purgatory that I really like as well. For Murders in the rue Morgue and Killers, they both have the same problem imo, great intros but then they become very repetitive very fast...

Enter Stage Right: The Big Rush Era Poll

I love all of their eras but maybe the one from Presto to Test for Echo was the less enjoyable one. As for the others, love all of them, too difficult to choose.

    A 90's Flashback Tour Setlist?

A 90's only set-list...hmmmh, we all know it'll never happen but just for fun, this is what I'd like to witness live: 1. Be quick of be dead 2. Lord of the flies 3. Lightning strikes twice 4. Tailgunner 5. Afraid to shoot strangers 6. Futureal 7. The Clansman 8. Mother Russia 9. Judas be my...

    Your Maiden blasphemy

I don't know if it may count as blasphemy but Killers is by far the most generic and uninteresting album they've done. With the exception of 1, 2 songs, the rest really looks like generic metal songs that any basic band could have written (I'm well aware of the fact that some of these songs are...

    Senjutsu - 20 Months Later

One of the most solid albums they've done along with BNW and AMOLAD for me. Apart from the Darkest Hour which Im not a big fan of, all of the others range from very good to outstanding songs. A great album, no doubt about it
