Fun fact: the first two CDs I bought were Piece of Mind and Reign in Blood (simultaneously). I already owned them on cassette (Diesel's flip the tape story is true), but these apparently were the ones it was most important for me to also own on CD.
The Metal Cup has been a really fun game exposing people all across the forum to music they may have otherwise not have heard. It cast a wide net to come to a consensus across the metal-sphere. Which got me thinking--can we come to a consensus on sub-genres of metal too?

I could have gone either way on Mob Rules vs. Stained Class. To me, the former is a bit over-rated and the latter is a bit under-rated. In the end it was Exciter that pushed me over the edge. Both, however, are miles better than either of the albums in the two middle pairs.
There's a very good chance that five Judas Priest albums will be in the Sweet 16. I also expect 5 Maiden albums, two Dio, Bruce, Megadeth, Metallica and Sabbath.
I would be totally fine if either Peace Sells, Powerslave or Master of Puppets won the whole damn thing. Not really that surprised that Moving Pictures is getting destroyed in a METAL cup. That said, it was the first "heavier" album I got and it set me on a path that has me invested in internet...
