Which Senjutsu songs do you predict will be played live?

I think full album is a strong possibility. There's a lot of positive buzz around Senjutsu and a short tour with the entire album played would make up for the prolonged focus on classics (LotB tour). I hope they do it. If we're talking about a standard setlist, my prediction is: Senjutsu...

    Least favourites on Senjutsu

It's Death of the Celts for me. I really tried getting into it, but repeated listens don't make it better. It's the only song that I feel like skipping and I think the album as a whole would be better without it. That said, I don't think it's a terrible song. It's just boring and doesn't get...

    Problem on disc 2 (CD)

I may be completely wrong, but after spotting the clipping I immediately thought that they left too little headroom in the mix when laying overdubs and/or forgot about limiting. Which would be a rookie mistake on the engineer's part... But again - I have no idea if that could be the reason.

    Problem on disc 2 (CD)

My thoughts exactly. We may or may not like the approach to the overall sound on the album, but this is an objective, technical screw-up. It may seem like a detail, but to be honest it's beyond me how stuff like this can pass at any stage of professional production. I would expect people working...

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Do we know if this huge mid bump is used as a boost in front of the preamp or after it, simply as EQ?

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Hah, I recently revisited it and oh man, it's so funny. Two things in particular - that zoom action and Blaze singing the synth choir part. Epic.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

That's what I thought too. I like TWotW video, but this one is actually better and I can only imagine how excited I would be if this was released on July 15. Even that little glimpse of Eddie at the end could serve as a nice teaser before revealing him on the album cover. As for the meaning of...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Wooow, this video is amazing. Very tasteful - I dig all the imagery and visual style. TWotW video is super cheesy in comparison (but I still like it). Honestly, I think it's probably the best they've ever had. Slightly depressing with the bad (?) guy winning, haha. I guess it would be nice if...

    Hell On Earth

The wole song is like that for me. When that melody kicks in at 2:46 I feel like I'm going for the last ride. And what a ride it is! Then, during the Life in danger part I can't think about anything other than the fact that these might be the last words sung by Bruce on a Maiden song, the band's...

Nice surprise! I totally forgot about that Adult Swim rumour and it turns out to be true. Can't wait. The images look intriguing.

    Death Of The Celts

As of now DotC is the only song on the album that I feel like skipping, because it really drags for me. At this point in the album I'm rather impatient for The Parchment to start. Also, the transition from Darkest Hour to The Parchment would work fine. (And for the record - I'm not one of those...

Please post reviews and thoughts on Senjutsu here

The Parchment is a trancelike song, almost meditative, where repetition and slow development makes total sense. It's definitely a case of atmosphere over anything else and I love it. Too bad it transitions into that slightly uninspired bombastic ending, but the rest of the track is so good that...

    Initial Favorites Off Senjutsu

Senjutsu, Stratego, TWotW, The Parchment and Hell on Earth are my instant favourites. Would be tough to put them in order, but Stratego is my #1 right now. The Time Machine and LiaLW are growing fast. Both fantastic. Slight edge to The Time Machine. DoFP just below these two DotC is my...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I wish they played the whole thing live. Fingers crossed. If not, I'd say the most likely picks are Senjutsu, Stratego, TWotW, DoFP, The Time Machine and Hell on Earth. I wish The Parchment was played too, but I'm not sure about the likelihood of that outside the full album scenario.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I'm tempted to say the best since The Evil That Men Do... Definitely on par with The Wicker Man.

    Senjutsu

Both comments clearly come from drum patterns and emphasis on rhythm. The Tool comparison is a bit of a stretch but not crazy, but "industrial" is just a completely different vibe.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

It's a good point, but I'm still not convinced. The cover of Ghost's Meliora was designed that way for this exact reason and it's still something interesting. It's a matter of creativity and aesthetic sense.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I respectfully disagree. Eddie has grown on me a lot (he's even on my wallpaper now) but I still think it's a travesty that the cover itself is so bland and similar to its predecessor. Both TBoS and Senjutsu deserved better. There are so many possibilities with the visual themes Maiden go for...

A theory regarding Maiden History part 4

I wouldn't mind them going digital only for future releases. Home video market is all about streaming now. I would get behind a physical release to have it in my collection (and just to be extra sure I have it and it won't disappear online!), but when it comes to watching, I'd much rather stream...
