Oh, I haven't even noticed anything off with Powerslave and think he's doing a thoroughly solid job so far. I guess you're perhaps right on this just being his way of doing the Murders intro as the rest of the band and the pyro haven't had much of an issue getting in right on the beat. (Unless...
Say the pandemic didn't happen and the band stuck with the timeline of Legacy of the Beast wrapping in 2020 and Senjutsu Tour going from 2021-2022 (assumed it's a two-year tour.) The band decided to continue with a Somewhere in Time-themed tour with a focus on both the album and a smattering of...
I only picture Run For Your Lives going to a third year if they're going to sprinkle in one or two brand new songs in there to then transition to a new album tour in early-2028.
Also, been showing some friends of mine that I've seen concerts with (who have never seen Maiden before) clips from Budapest and they're quite interested in seeing this tour in the states next year. Setlist is perfectly catered to them and they're really intrigued by the graphics - particularly...
Well, the opening rolls for Murders sounded more consistent, still sounds like Simon's exit point to the straight hits on the snare is still early though.
I'm not sure about that. Ultimately the feedback they care about is the box office, and considering this tour sold like hotcakes as soon as tickets went on sale (and likely before the setlist was finalized) I don't think the fans minded the deep cuts.
I think if the next tour is a new album tour then the LED screen for a backdrop will remain (but not as wide as it currently is), but the staging for the risers will go back to one specific theme rather than LEDs.
The full on embrace of LEDs for both this tour I feel has to do with the "many...
The last tour literally had half the set feature a live debut or a song that hadn't been done in 20+ years. It's not like stuff like Only the Good Die Young or Sun & Steel were kept out of the sets because of Nicko.
Had they stuck with a traditional stage set, Id be a big fan of the Killers backdrop of the Underground tunnels with the curtains just coming down over the middle 'wall'.
Was waiting for vids to come out as this was the first thing I wanted to make sure was ironed out. Sounds like he's rushing the opening rolls and comes out of it too early?
Had a thought of if the timeline were different and Bruce hadn't gotten cancer you'd be looking at a 2015-2016 Book of Souls tour. 2017 comes around and they wanted to do a duel anniversary tour. 25 years of Fear and 35 years of TNOTB. Hyped up as having six songs from each album, some other...
My take on what I saw through an Instagram feed is, yes, the set is rather pedestrian than what they could have dug out with only two songs having not been played since before Somewhere Back in Time. If I were to tweak anything, I'd put Prowler in instead of Wrathchild and Infinite Dreams in...
