    NOW PLAYING

One of my fave bands! Talk to Lee and Brian sometimes, on facebook. Garry Jennings is such a cool guy. Hope they come back. Listening to The Guessing Game title track, now Edwige's Eyes. Superb discography. Best band of the 90's.

    The Time Machine

Just re-revised and only the intro/outro has the 'Celtic' tuning; for the rest of the song, it has, at least, one guitar in drop D tuning.

    The Time Machine

I just revised and I think it is in DADGAD (same as The Talisman). The intro is on a strat and it is Jan; there's an acoustic, too and it may be Adrian. Gonna work out if the tuning is kept thoughout the song, 'cos I hear the Asus, aug and major, with the high D when Bruce sings "... and done"...

    The Time Machine

I'm siting here, with my acoustic, in front of my laptop and thoughout the whole song there's, at least, one guitar, in DADGBD tuning.

    Carcass

Tom Warrior said that his trademark 'ugh' was sparkled by Di'Anno's 'Yeah', on the beginning of Wrathchild.

And it continues up to this date; there's a lot more unison and octaved harmonies than thirds or fifths, since then.

Which band is more influential on Iron Maiden: Sabbath or Purple?

We all know, very well, all bands that influenced Harris and they all show up on several parts of the songs, but, in overall analysis, Lizzy and Tull are the ones that are the core basis for most of the band's sound.

    The Time Machine

I think that, for fingering position confort, this is the right way to play the intro (after the intro, one guitar has a drop D tuning; the high E string is in D, only for the intro): The Time Machine (Gers/Harris) Double Drop D...

Which band is more influential on Iron Maiden: Sabbath or Purple?

Among these two, Purple, but, the two most influential bands, on Maiden, are, undoubtely, Thin Lizzy and Jethro Tull.

How old were you when you started listening to Maiden and which 3 albums did you buy first?

I listened to all kinds of music and children's stuff, too, but, Iron Maiden, from the moment the stylus dropped and Aces High started, it was the pied piper showing the way. I remember jumping on the couch, while tv showed Rock In Rio footage, in 1985, and screaming 'Running Free' as Maiden was...

How old were you when you started listening to Maiden and which 3 albums did you buy first?

I was 3 or 4 years old; the first was Powerslave, then, the debut, borrowed from this older kid and my first one, I got as a birthday gift, by this same guy, on my 5th birthday party and it was Killers.

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/bruce-dickinson-why-iron-maiden-keeps-writing-long-progressive-songs/ On Senjutsu, Death Of The Celts (mainly) and The Parchment, Bruce is having stunning Peter Hammill's impersonations. Also, they have progressive elements, but, Maiden isn't doing progressive...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Since Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, there isn't an album with so much going among the guitar lines. The more I listen, the more this album gets greater.

Senjutsu and The Parchment could, easily, be Dio era Black Sabbath songs.
