So Adrian was the reason Maiden didn't play Alexander the Great on the original Somewhere in Time tour. I guess he thought he couldn't pull it off live. I wonder what changed his mind in 2023.
Maiden/Priest isn't "big" anymore now that Priest is down to their singer and bassist, whereas the classic Maiden line-up is still 100% intact and kicking ass. It would frankly be an embarrassment to Priest.
It seems obvious it's a new album. It also seems obvious that they must take the Future Past tour to other parts of the world in 2024 and must play the Somewhere in Time songs to more people. So the only thing that makes sense is that the tour will continue, but the "future" songs will be from...
My takeaway from this tour is that Alexander the Great is probably the best live song Maiden has ever done. I've watched every YouTube video of the song that I've found, some multiple times. It's absolutely spellbinding. Amazing that this song sat on the shelf for 37 years. Maiden truly is...
YouTube comments sections can be hilarious. You always have the different factions of Maiden fans commenting:
- the Maiden worshippers who claim that Maiden saved their lives (many);
- the 80s Maiden fans who think everything after Seventh Son is bloated and boring (a lot);
- the Di’Anno era...
Maiden could be happily retired, their legacy secure, continuing to rake in the money forever from merchandise sales. But they continue to tour well into their 60s and release new music for us, the fans. And yet the complaints about them never end in this forum. Sad.
The news will be that the Future Past tour will continue in 2024, but the “future” part will change. We’ll still get the Somewhere in Time songs, but instead of Senjutsu songs we’ll get songs from the new album that they’re recording this winter.
Maybe.
It's not an immature or childish mindset at all. It's a mindset that wants "experience to extremes", as Neal Peart wrote. But it's not one that many can easily understand.
No, my hearing is actually really still good. I just like to push things to extremes. Some of us, a few, are like that by nature. Nothing is better at extreme levels than Iron Maiden, the greatest and deepest rock band ever.
Okay, okay. I'm just trolling you a bit for fun. But I personally will never wear ear protection at a concert. In fact I get pissed that all headphones I buy can't go louder.
Very bad analogy. You don't understand what heavy metal music is? You can always watch Maiden shows at low volume on YouTube as you sip your soy latte.
