Seems like Adrian played that intro with Janick. Look at 0:23 and onwards, he certainly picks some notes.

Just one solo. Dave played it alone on the studio recording and by himself live in 1998, but in 1999 Janick joined in too. Adrian played rhythm.

Thanks! And do you have any from 2004? That was the final tour with guitarist Steve Wray (the last remaining original member) - would be cool to hear Ten Seconds, Blood and Belief, Life and Death performed by him etc.

I would like to get this bootleg!

I have always thought that this song sounded cool when it was mixed with that triggered "Brave New World" snare sound. The dual solo by Dave and Janick in this version also sounded very good.

    Janick Gers

No, I mixed up that recording up with Dive Dive. But credit to Dickson then, he played that solo very well! I think that Janick's on Dive Dive is rather good though:

    Janick Gers

Janick played his solos better and cleaner when it was just him alone in the mix (with bass and drums). Edit: Apparently not, that's Alex Dickson.

What isolated track of any Maiden song would interest you the most?

Out of the Silent Planet - the vocals. Bruce sings a totally different harmonizing lower part on the backing vocals during the chorus, which is layered underneath the main vocals in the mix. I know this from when I used to listen to this song on my old Iphone 4 with the headphones plugged in...

    The Future Past tour 2023

The Raven Age is a suitable act to open up for British Lion on small clubs, like they did in 2015. Enjoyed their show and got their E.P, which had some decent stuff on it. Maiden should have a stronger opening act though. As an example of this, I thought Shinedown were a great choice in 2017...

Gus G practising Killers for the shows with Di'anno.

But you should propably not blame Blaze who doesn't play any instrument, that's stuff that his band members wrote. In Flames - I'm the Highway

The Silicon Messiah album was written by a whole band of 5 musicians working together with producer Andy Sneap, so I don't think you should view any of those songs as lost Maiden tracks really. According to guitarist Steve Wray, cited in "At the end of the Day", Blaze didn't have much material...

    The Future Past tour 2023

No, he said that it was one of his favourite songs to perform and that he would like to do it again: https://thathashtagshow.com/2021/09/17/bruce-dickinson-talks-favorite-iron-maiden-song-to-sing-dianno-songs/ The Prisoner and Stranger in a Strange Land were also mentioned at the same time.

    No Prayer For the Dying

This track sounded so much more powerful live. Dave's guitar tone was also excellent for all the lead parts, and I liked his use of the whammy bar here.

    Blaze Bayley

What are your opinion on of the use of synths in Blaze's music? This is something that is not featured very often. But for example Andy Sneap actually added some keyboard parts in the background at 5:27 - 5:40 in Stare at the Sun, I think that parts sounds great. You can certainly notice...

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Great! I also really like that they put out everything from Eddie's archives last year on digital services. The "Doctor Doctor" cover is the most popular of those tracks on Spotify now.

Dio still did rather well in Europe so he didn't need to support Maiden there, he could tour on his own. I really like this bootleg btw: One of Blaze's really good nights on the Virtual XI tour and the greek c*nts were really into the new material as well!

Dio also fired Jake E. Lee in 1982, because he wanted someone that agreed to just write straight riffs that he could sing over, which Jake didn't want to do. (Ozzy then picked Jake for Bark at the Moon). I think Dio would have been a lot more successful if he had stuck with Jake as his...
