    The Future Past tour 2023

Steve wrote the music, but the lyrics (and the vocal melody?) were 100 % by Blaze. Therefore, I don't think Steve or any other band member will push for that song. Back in 1998, Steve even preferred "The Angel and The Gambler", which he composed alone, as the first single from Virtual XI...

    The Future Past tour 2023

I don't think the band need to do any more Blaze-era tracks now. 1999 - 2022: Ed Hunter: Man on The Edge, Futureal, The Clansman. Brave New World: Sign of the Cross, The Clansman. Give me Ed: The Clansman. Dance of Death: Lord of the Flies. Legacy: Sign of the Cross, The Clansman. Play...

Like the album version, but Jeff Bova's orchestration is turned up in the mix.

    Kevin Shirley’s production of Senjutsu

I think Blaze's Blood and Belief from 2004 were one of the first albums produced by Sneap with that particular sound. I don't think it would suit Maiden either.

Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

I can understand them not wanting to include Blaze, as that period is viewed as a commercial failure (especially in the U.S and UK). But does Dennis Stratton, who didn't write a single song for the band and was more or less a "hired gun", really need to be included?

    Janick Gers

These people don't like how Maiden sound after "Seven Sun", but they also claim that you can't hear his guitar in the mix! Who's to blame then? Anyway, happy birthday and keep on rockin'! And here's some excellent old Janick riffs:

    The Future Past tour 2023

I'm not entirely sure if Bruce thought Futureal worked really well for him, judging by this quote from 2018: https://blabbermouth.net/news/bruce-dickinson-really-enjoyed-singing-blaze-bayley-era-iron-maiden-songs On the other hand, I know that he said in an interview with Metal Hammer in...

    The Future Past tour 2023

What about a song from the Book of Souls or The Final Frontier making the set instead of a Senjutsu track? This tour's "Lord of the Flies" (like in 2003 / 2004): Speed of Light, Death or Glory or Coming Home?

    Wasting Love

Nothing wrong with the band gaining some attention with more casual rock listeners. On a sidenote, Afraid to Shoot Strangers (31 million streams) and Be Quick or Be Dead (23 million streams) have also been top 10 tracks on Spotify in the past.

Janick could just take the solo and improvise something.

    Blaze Bayley

I thought 303 was a really good track from the last album.
  15. TheTalisman

    Wasting Love

Over 70 million streams on Spotify now, making it the 7th most popular Maiden track on that platform at the moment. Surprised by this. Was it featured in some "Rock ballad" playlists made by Spotify's staff and then it just took off?

Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

That particular guitar is from https://www.fendercustomshop.com/ and is no regular production model. This one was made by Fender's custom shop in more recent years as well. And look at the quilted maple in the headstock - very nice.

    Blaze Bayley

Thank you. The Bannermans, Edinburgh gig is from 2014 though, but nice to have that one as well! Edit: The Bristol show from April 2004 also has John Slater performing, that must have been one of the last shows he did.

    Blaze Bayley

I just found a video bootleg from a gig in Gothenburg in 2001 btw. Horrible audio, but interesting to see the band perform:

    Blaze Bayley

That would be cool. Wray left in September of 2004 btw, after completing the summer tour (including a performance at Bang Your Head in Germany). So any gigs before that are very interesting to hear!
