    Blaze Bayley

Actually, there were no overdubs on The The Evil That Men Do. Instead, they copied and pasted one vocal line for this track, where Blaze was able to sing the whole chorus, into the parts where it was missing:

Which Iron Maiden albums Iron Maiden likes?

The X Factor has been mentioned by Steve as one of his favourites, both in the Run to the Hills biography and in Blaze's own book, when he was interviewed. And there is an old forum thread quoting Janick's opinion on The X Factor (in which he seemed to share Steve's view)...

All The X-Factor B-sides, except I Live My Way, are on Spotify (and other streaming services) thanks to a digital release of everything originally included in the old Eddie's Archive box. Only Doctor Doctor is getting many plays though (by the Spotify algorithm). 4.9 million views on youtube...

The third Blaze-sung Maiden album: lyrically a fusion of Silicon Messiah and BNW, but musically rooted in BNW?

I agree. And let's say, if they continue after Blaze, with a completely new singer, perhaps someone who could do the Ed Hunter Tour classics well, and then release a decent album featuring Blood Brothers and some other good songs, there was surely some upside potential, remaining at CMC (and...

The third Blaze-sung Maiden album: lyrically a fusion of Silicon Messiah and BNW, but musically rooted in BNW?

Both Maiden and Bruce were on CMC International in the U.S at the time, like Jer wrote. Virtual XI did way worse than any other studio album in the catalogue, but still good enough for the band to be signed on a smaller label, I believe. I can't imagine that CMC wanted to drop them. Sale stats...

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

    - Steve quoted on page 204, 3rd edition, Run to the Hills biography. Steve never intended to force Janick out of the band. At first, he even thought that they would look for a completely new singer and not bring Bruce back, when Blaze struggled on tour.

6:59. Those two guys (Nifelheim brothers) meet Blaze and Steve at Hovet, Stockholm, 1998. They are also pictured in the original Silicon Messiah booklet.

    Blaze Bayley

    1. Blaze has been the singer of Iron Maiden (just like Bruce). 2. He now has his own radio show (also like Bruce in the past). 3. Next step: teach the man to fly airplanes

Silicon Messiah got some good reviews from the major rock & metal magazines, and they got to play the main stage at Wacken in 2000, but that wasn't enough to break through and build up a band name. There wasn't any label support available to buy onto a tour with a huge mainstream metal act. But...

    Blaze Bayley

I think they were just happy to finally be able to record with good equipment, a good producer and go on tour. The only member who had been a professional musician before being in BLAZE was drummer Jeff Singer (Kill II this + some session work.)

What if Adrian played/wrote some of Janick's solos?

The Mercenary is 100 % a leftover, it goes back to the early 80's. The main riff ideas are from Janick's days in White Spirit. The lyrical theme is somewhat inspired by this old track as well. The middle section, where Adrian plays the solo, was propably Steve's work though.
