Yeah, there are musical gimmicks too, if you can call them that (you'd have to widen the definition of a gimmick, I suppose). I have a coworker who finds Maiden's galloping incredibly cringy and "gimmicky" and thinks Run to the Hills is hilarious (and bad).

Neither are gimmick bands. Both use gimmicks though, and while I think Maiden's use has been understated a bit in the discussion (I mean, Maiden have had several Eddie video games...), there's no denying how important the visuals are for propelling Ghost's career and probably more so than Eddie...

Elitism isn't facts though. Elitism is opinions, but with the type of superiority and disdain you displayed. Calling a band simply being a gimmick (not having gimmicks, which is facts) is elitist.
