    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

While I like the Alchemist, I expect something better this time, they haven't released those as singles, but will see. Also, I expect song snippets also appear at Amazon etc. where you can listen into all the songs a few days prior.

The MAIDEN Years: 2018/19/20/21/22/ad infinitum (Rock in Rio and Nights of the Dead)

Not to go offtopic here, but just listened to BNW, and Dream of Mirrors is wonderfully mixed. As well as a very good song.

I wonder how this really works. Steve: "Hey Bruce, do you have any songs for the new Maiden album?", Bruce: "Nope, sorry, just a few ideas." "OK, empty your pockets!" "But, look..." "Empty your pockets! What's that? A new song as I can see? It's mine now!"

The MAIDEN Years: 2018/19/20/21/22/ad infinitum (Rock in Rio and Nights of the Dead)

AOB and the followup CW albums are all-time classics, absolute must-haves. I remember when AOB was released, it was considered a metal comeback album (not for Bruce, but metal in general!). This was a milestone in 1997 and helped revitalize the entire genre. Plus it laid the foundations for...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

History proves that it's quite dangerous to bring any pre-recorded, half-baked demos or mixes to Steve as they can easily end up as the final product and everybody can then scratch their heads LOL

This is how reviews are "trustworthy", they are opinions that everyone has: https://bravewords.com/reviews/iron-maiden-a-matter-of-life-and-death Nowadays, Maiden does these preliminary review sessions for selected journalists, where they can listen to the album maybe once? They can take notes...

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Just recently re-watched the History series videos, and in Part 3, when Adrian is talking about the sound on SIT, being more lush and all kinds of effects on it, when he mentions a "bit more reverb" on it, he really sounds and looks ironic LOL From 8m30s: This has been an ongoing "war"...

Yeah, it's actually a positive review, and seemingly there are a couple of faster tracks on the album to counterbalance Steve's "epicness" somewhat. So far, mostly positive reviews, this one might not have mentioned the sound, but we know it has improved too, so I expect something definitely...

Let's not forget, someone mentioned Hooks in You before too, so No prayer fans should line up too! LOL

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

Are you sure it was Maiden? Btw, I would love a song like Hooks in You, with that dynamism, sorely missing from recent albums, as a contrast at least.

You said everything and said it very well. My favorite Skunkworks songs are: Solar Confinement Meltdown Innerspace Strange Death in Paradise

    Senjutsu - 3rd September 2021

I imagine Rod telling Adrian: "Fans are whining about the sound all the time, come on, do an interview where you must praise the sound on the new album." "OK, but I think we could still add a little more reverb here and there." "No, go ahead and say this is the best album sonically, fans only...

Sounds interesting! I will need plenty of time to digest all that with proper listening, but thanks for your recommendation!

Not sure, but TWOTW was released in-sync with the video premiere more or less, maybe a few minutes after that as far as I remember. I think their best interest is to release it ASAP on Spotify too. If I had to wait this long, I would not be bothered with an extra wait on that day if it occurs :)

On release day, I have the following on order: Spotify LOL After that, I will buy the Deluxe 2CD Book Format, as usual (as did with BOS too).

The MAIDEN Years: 2018/19/20/21/22/ad infinitum (Rock in Rio and Nights of the Dead)

Yes, exactly, out of key at other places too. Bruce had to sing the intro lines of NOTB like dozens of times back in the days, as Martin Birch was not satisfied with the results. No one ever has done this ever since, even Bruce gets away with things on recent albums, he wings it quite often :)

The MAIDEN Years: 2018/19/20/21/22/ad infinitum (Rock in Rio and Nights of the Dead)

I did like Look for the Truth actually, still do, it's one of the better songs on this album, but it's a prime example of terrible production. As you said, the album suffers from sonic problems, level problems, and in particular, that beautiful intro is sung terribly by Blaze. Not that he could...

The MAIDEN Years: 2018/19/20/21/22/ad infinitum (Rock in Rio and Nights of the Dead)

Here we go, discussed to death, but it's still quite interesting to see what this album caused. I remember when it was released, it was a huge shock. Everyone had high expectations, the album took a very long time to produce and then I saw the first reviews in Metal Hammer...The reviews were...
