If Maiden were to release an official live album from any tour of the past...

Yeah, I agree. I'd much rather listen to Stockholm 2018 than NOTD for example.

If Maiden were to release an official live album from any tour of the past...

AMOLAD for sure, Ed Hunter and Somewhere on Tour right behind for me.

    R.I.P. Mav

I wish I could have told this guy his importance to my life and childhood. Never even interacted with him but so sad. RIP

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

It's actually the opposite. If Simon records, they probably will record it "live" like they've been doing. However, if they want Nicko to record, they'll probably need to adjust the way they record to make up for Nicko's shortcomings.

    The Future Past Tour 2024

Where did you find it? Is this the highest quality available? Wanna make a poster out of this picture.

Best performances from Future Past Tour?

Second night in London last year was very good.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I think that because Simon Dawson is 66 and would probably play 2 or even 3 nights in a row lots of times during a tour. That would be harder for a drummer than for Steve. But that doesn't mean he's out, of course.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I don't think they chose him with the intention of extending their career, hence the announcement of him only for 2025 at the moment. I think it's possible that after RFYL they go into semi-retirement, maybe recording 1 or 2 albums at most (with Nicko) and a few live performances.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I mean, yeah Simon Philips is amazing but it was never going to happen, I still don’t know why it has been mentioned that often here. It was quite obvious that it would be between Simon Dawson, Joe Lazarus and maaaybe Justin McBrain.

Simon Dawson is the new drummer

I hope he uses at least a very similar kit to Nicko's. I know it would be hard for him to adapt specially for things like the ride placement but it doesn't need to be exactly the same, just in the same vein, because as I said before it really feels like a part of the stage show for Maiden.

    Or even Aces High again.

    Nicko McBrain retires

Although it was possible, I'm still shocked. Glad that Nicko retired in his own terms and I'm really thankful for having saw him in his last tour, an absolute legend. I also think the replacement will be Joe Lazarus, with another possibility being Simon Dawson. I hope that the new drummer...

    USA Politics

Just checked this thread for the first time in a while and I have a few things to say about it and the results. - It baffles me how can people who live at the United States can actually claim that Dems are going far too left. Their country is literally the embodiment of capitalism and...

RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

To be fair, Wasting Love is the 5th most streamed video on Maiden's official YT channel as well, where playlists aren't as important. Here in Brazil, I have lots of friends who aren't into Maiden at all who know Wasting Love. I think it is that popular, just not among heavy metal fans.

    Paul Di'Anno

By the way, Corinthians (the second most popular football club in Brazil) also paid tribute to him on their social media. Paul used to say he was a Corinthians fan in Brazil. Sport Club Corinthians Paulista mourns the death of Paul Di'Anno, former lead singer of Iron Maiden, at the age of 66...

Himself, on this interview. I'm brazilian myself and I didn't know that his father was brazilian, just thought he lived here for quite some time as well.
