It's simply a collection of weak songs. I've always kinda thought of it as their Judas Priest album. And I love JP. But for some reason I find there to be something very Judas Priest-ey about FoTD.

It's got a great sound. To my ears, it was the starting of Maiden's albums having the classic 80s maiden sound to them. I mean the overall production sound. BNW and DoD, as well as VXI, have a more polished sound. And I love those 3 albums, I really do (VXI was amazing IMO).

The BLAZE album Silicon Messiah should have been Maidens follow-up to Virtual XI. Just image, that would be awesome! And image if Maiden had recorded Silicon Messiah with Adrian Smith in the mix. Amazing!

Is there a space/sci-fi theme to TFF? Other then the obvious (the cover art), I sense a space theme in a lot of the songs. Does it just seem that way or is that an actual lyrical theme on the album? Has the band talked about it?

I can't get over the fact they would make a concept album around such a shitty novel like Orson Scott Card's Seventh Son. And I think people are overreacting to the repeated chorus thing. It's never bothered me and I never really thought about it until I started coming to places like this forum...

I wish they would play all new albums entirely on new tours. AMoLAD is especially a good album to do it with. As a whole it's a very cohesive piece.

I like the approach they took with Bruce on the new single, but I hope they don't do it on the whole album. I'm talking about the chorus. What's the word for the way it's done with only one vocal track? I hope they're not all like that.

It's crazy how a band like DT has incredibly complicated songs and plays them all live while most others wouldn't even consider it.
